G/Z CHICAGO IL/IA/WI Cruise

Good cruise today. Perfect weather, road conditions (minus some gravel) and great people.
Pics and other video forthcoming. In the mean time, how ***NOT*** to ride a motorcycle.

Thanks again Jsolo for leading the cruise yesterday! That was a great route with well timed stops. I didn't realize we had those kind of roads around here. It was a lot of fun!

You're welcome.
I had a really hard time deciding how to get home. Too tired to double back the as originally planned and fight I90 construction traffic. Actually ended up taking 64 all the way to sycamore, then hopped on 88 to 294. Surprisingly it was very comfortable in the right lane doing 5 under the speed limit with good spacing. Too many were crowded in the passing lane almost bumper to bumper at 80+.
I think it would be nice to revisit the area once the colors change. This time at a more leisurely pace. Remember those 9 90 degree curves? Checked my gps log (records position every second), entry speed was somewhere around 55, exit around 65-70. Not bad for a 40 mph curve

Here's something you don't see every day. (Change res to 1080 for best viewing).

Galena Cruise #2 10/2/2016, 10/9/2016 rain date
This will be similar to the 9/11 cruise with just a few route changes. Nice weekends will be in short supply soon. I think we all had a blast last time. This is another opportunity to get out there and really drive the car.
Date: 10/2/2016 , 10/9/2016 rain date
Meet time: 0745, leave 0800
Meet location : Road Ranger off of 90/20 - https://goo.gl/maps/z3jp1SHtay82
Total distance: ~300 miles roundtrip
*Please park in the area in red - https://i.imgur.com/QP1nSW3.jpg
Pace: Slow in the straights, very spirited in the corners.
Lunch: Culvers in Galena
Requirements: Be fueled (both you and car) and ready to go. I'd like to be on the road by 8am.
There's few technical/scenic roads around here. These are probably the best and we'll hit them all.
