Noob Question

So if your car's warranty has expired but you find out there is a TSB for an issue, will the dealership fix it for free? Or are these TSB's only covered if you are still under warranty?

TSB's are only covered through the warranty period

TSB only applies if you're under warranty for the TSB item. For example, if you're out of basic warranty but have extended warranty and you want them to check out something related to the drive train (covered under extended warranty), it will be free. But if you want them to check out battery (not covered under extended warranty) for TSB, it will not be free.

A TSB can be performed under warranty, or out of warranty.
The difference? You pay for it out of warranty.

Remember a TSB IS NOT a RECALL. Its an aid to the technician.

Reviving this to ask a question on the same topic.

Has anyone ever had a dealership perform TSB work out of warranty at no charge? Perhaps as "customer goodwill" on a legitimate issue?

Not on the G, but on my old Max i had a TSB done out of warranty and yes i paid for it.

The way i see it:

TSB: "How-to" on fixing something
Recall: "Do it now!"

I had three TSBs done on my 350Z that was out of warranty at no charge. I bought the car used from the dealer, and they agreed to do the TSBs when I mentioned them.

If you Call Infiniti Corporate Consumer Affairs and explain the situation to them, they will work with you. My car only has 15k Miles but I bought it in Fall of 2007, and the battery issues are known to everyone, I didnt get it fixed when I was in warranty, so today they said they would pay for Parts and I would just have to pay for Labor so total is $130 in Labor and the $250-300 in Parts is being Covered, but I am still trying to fight paying the labor
