5,1XX mi., dead bulb

As the title says, I have 5,1XX miles on the odo and my right low beam bulb is already dead. I know this can't be normal. It went out yesterday and I'm taking it in tomorrow to also get the infamous front left pillar creak checked out. Any idea's how it could have blown so early?

What do you mean by the low beam bulb? Our high beam and low beam share the same bulb. Were you in an accident? Those bulbs are extremely fragile too.

Most likely just a bad bulb. Good luck.

HID's rarely go out, unless it's an ebay kit. Dealer should replace it cause it sounds like a faulty one. Get both changed since HID's to color shift. Meaning your new bulb and the old one will have a different tint to them

They tried to blame my grounding kit for causing the headlight bulb to go out, saying the wire was drawing power from the headlight. He told me this was going to void my warranty and would only charge me $50 dollars for a new bulb. I argued telling him that it's just a grounding kit that grounds the negative terminal of the battery to the frame and there was no way for it to draw power from the headlight. He called again telling me the service tech spent over a hour following the wires (lmao) and proved that I was indeed correct. They're ordering a new headlight assembly for me under warranty and told me that he'll take care of me.

The service tech said he fixed the infamous left front pillar creak by insulating it. Not sure if it fixed the problem though because they're keeping the car overnight.

Overall, I feel like this service center is pretty good to me so far. He told me I didn't need to use esther oil until the cold season, which it was made for and mobil 1 was good enough. I got a 2008 EX35 as a loaner and it's making me jealous because I want the feature where if an object is too close, it beeps! Why can't we have that? Or the speed sensing autolock too as standard in our 08's!?

Are you sure? I have the premium package. I think it must be new for the 2009 model? I think there's a guy that makes a module for them for us unfortunate 2008 owners.

Well I got my car back today. They fixed everything... or so they thought. Man, didn't know an oil change and a tire balance would cost $170, even after I supplied my own oil and oil filter lol. I'll just do it myself next time!

Anyways, he said he took apart the trim and insulated it to get rid of the creaking, but when he drove it out of the service shop, he said it creaked again. He told me there's a TSB out stating the creaking is coming from the moonroof and he ordered a couple of dampeners to fix the problem. I just need to bring it back next week. I'll let you guys know if this fixes the infamous left pillar creak.

BTW, while I agree that your grounding kit has nothing to do with the headlight failure but it is bypassing the current sensor between the neg. battery terminal and frame ground. That current sensor is used as part of the Variable Voltage Control System that regulates the generator output. I'm surprise your dealer didn't mention that since it could affect your battery life.

Did you confirm this? Always thought the negative battery would go straight to frame ground and the positive battery would have the sensor.

It's clearly shown in the service manual. I'm surprised this isn't discussed more considering the variable voltage control system is also mentioned in the owner's manual with a warning about grounding directly to the battery terminal (8-16 in 2009 manual).

first I've heard about this happening to someone on an OEM bulb. Glad you got it taken care of.
