My dealership just performed ITB09-037 for my prematurely warped rotors.

I got this TSB applied to my 2009 Journey sedan. My car has a build date of August 2009. The dealer installed new pads, heat baffles, and resurfaced the rotors. I have 21,000 miles on the odometer. The dealer was hesitant in applying the TSB to my car. They said my VIN number matched the affected vehicles, but the NMC code was off by one number. I told them that I was going to call consumer affairs and the manager said he would email corporate to see if they would approve the warranty repair. 2 days later I get a call to come in and get the TSB applied to my vehicle. Service rep said if the part fits then they will proceed with the repair. Initially I was told that I would be charged a $150 brake diagnosis fee and then be applied toward the repair fee. If warranty covered it then I would not be charged. If they don't apply the TSB tell them you will contact consumer affairs. Apparently this TSB applies to Sport and Journey models.
The Part Numbers for the Journey model are:
Plate - Baffle - 41151 - EJ70A
Plate - Baffle - 41161 - EJ70A
Hardware Kit - Front D-41080 - AR026
Pad Kit - Disc Brake - 41060 - EG090

I have a 2010 w/16k miles. I've had the front rotors resurfaced twice(Once unnecessarily, the rears were warped not the front) and the rear rotors once. They never applied a TSB to the car for the brakes. Hopefully they wont warp again but if so Im pushing for full replacement of rotors and pads.

Hey guys,
my 2008 G35x is currently at the dealer, dropping it off due to my complaints of extreme vibration when breaking at high speeds, as well as when going down steep hills. He called back saying the front + rear rotors and the rear break pads need changing. He quoted me a total of $860, should this be covered under the bulletin?
And for general knowledge, isnt $860 on the way too steep side anyway??? thanks!

I had the rotors turned at 6,500 miles, and the rear rotors turned at 12,000 under this TSB.
My front rotors are warped again at just under 16,000. It is schedule for front rotor replacement tomorrow under the TSB. When I called to set up the service appointment I told them I want the pads replaced also. The service writer told me they would not replace the pads under the TSB/warranty. I will have that discussion with the service manager when I take it in.
For those of you who have had their pads replaced did you have to request replacement? If so, did they give you a hassle?

I'm kind of in the same situation, dropped off the G today and their going to TSB the backplate and machine rotors. Asked if machining was just a temporary fix and would they not just rewarp. Replied they would take measurements to see if rotors were still within spec and then replace if needed.
So I have a similar question does the TSB specify what should be changed or is this to the dealers discretion?

Generally, warped rotors are considered as normal tear and wear, at least none premium manufactures dont cover them at all. I had resurfaced rotors of my previous Lagacy twice within 50k, and once for my wife's Mazda after 30K, paying my own money. For my wife's Mazda I found very good slotted rotors that seems like work better than OEM. May be there are better after market rotors for G?
Seems like Infiniti treats owners much better as they issued this TBS.

Anyone that wants to resolve this issue once and for all should make sure they have the cooling baffles installed and then immediately put on a good set of aftermarket pads (I use posi-quiet ceramics). The issue is the Nissan pads and not the rotors. Though debated, rotors don't usually warp like people think they do. It's the uneven deposits of brake pad material that causes it. When you cut or resurface the rotors all you are doing is lessening the thermal capacity of the rotors, which will then tend to leave more deposits of the brake pad on the rotors. If you are lucky enough to get infiniti to replace all of your rotors for you, I would ask if they would be willing to throw on pads that you purchased. If they say no, then when the work is done, replace the pads yourself with the aftermarket pads. You'll never have this issue come up again.
FYI, this has been a Nissan issue for going on 20+ years as I had this same issue with my 300zx TT as did many others.

not sure if anyone said this yet but just because your warranty is up doesnt mean they wont do the TSB. its a problem they have to fix. The 05-06 model 2.5 altima had a issue with oil consumption and no matter if the car had 200k miles or 20k miles it got a new motor
