Im glad they finally came out with a reprogram. I never thought I would miss my 5 speed M35x which seemed to read your mind when shifting. Only issue was the 3K+ RPM on the highway.
The M37 Trans sucks in my opinion. If you are just starting from a stop and accelerating normally it's all good. As soon as an on the fly accel is needed it doesnt know what to do. Most annoying is when you need to accel and just give abou 20% more throttle, it UPSHIFTS first and you lose RPM's. Sport mode makes this a little better, but the sudden downshifting on decel is downright scary. I suppose they think im entering a turn on the nuremberg in my family sedan and need that downshift to 2nd gear.
Anyway, I will be making an appointment. thanks for the heads up.

Hey guys, I was going to trade in my G37 for an M37. I got so tired of this faulty transmission in the G . They came up with a reprogram and fixed it but not 100%. Now I am reading that M is experiencing the same issues. I did not notice much of that behavior in M 2013 during the test drive, and the car was so smooth compared to my G. It seems to have a lil bit of a lag but not as bad as my G used to have. I did not get to drive the M too much to feel it all. It's also a heavier car, so it's not as quick as my G. Now I am hesitant...any thoughts would be appreciated...

Just a quick update, I took my 2012 M37 into the dealer today and they updated my software under warranty at no charge. It could just be the placebo effect but it seemed smoother on my drive home.

Looking at a 2013 M37X: Worried about the 7AT !!
I am considering a new 2013 M37X. My 2010 G37X with the 7AT was very frustrating to say the least. I've posted many, many times on the tread about the Tranny reprograms... In June 2012, Infiniti came out with the "fix' after finally admitting to the 1000s of complaints {i'm in there somewhere - I compalined about it 1 day after delivery].
A week ago, someone at my dealer (Pepe Infiniti in White Plains, NY) contacted me and seemed to indicate that Infiniti was offering an Early Termination program on my G37X lease (8 months to go). Over the course of the last year and half, I've bugged my salesperson (made two deals with them - 2007 G35X & the now 2010 G37X), to get me out of the Car for No cost of course. But to no avail. After receiving this call a week ago, i called her. She indicated to me that I must have been mistaken. I would still owe 8 months of payments to get out now. After the initial call, I was contemplating a new 2013 M37X , but hesitated a bit after reading a poster's comments about take a 2013 G37 as a loaner for a day. He said it lagged terribly, same old, same old 7AT. !!!! What, it's still not where it shoud be. BMW, MB, VW can get it right (multi-geared ATs), why can't infiniti....The point is apparently mute since there is no early termination offer. So I will commence car shopping in early spring. Oh Yeah, if you are offered an early term. deal, you have to take a new Infiniti which makes sense....
