Slow? Compare to what? Its big and its in the mid to low 5s from 0~60. Anything faster will be almost exotic and 10k more.

I Think "soooo low" meant alot of power low end rpm's. not slow.

If top secret can drop in the V8 and turbo charged it in a G35 Coupe, I'm sure there is more then enough room in the M for you to go beyond that.

I agree, just look at the "G45" thread, he is doing the swap as well with the M45 v8 in the G. Now a twin turbo M wouls be SWEEET!

So I gotta fork out 9K to rip out the motor to do a big bore and put it back in? Might as well buy an m5 and have warranty

I haven't driven the M's, but I know the difference between the FX35 and FX45 wasn't that big a deal (at least to me). The 45's additional power was only really noticeable when flooring it from a light or passing at 80 mph. Otherwise, they felt the same, and the 35 gets significantly better MPG.

But that's a whole different vehicle, so the M probably does feel different. How much, I dunno. Just my $.02

I would get the 35 if they made the Stillen SC or some good FI kit for it. Otherwise get all you can and go for the 45.

If the whipple deal turns out to work for the M45, there will still be no comparison.

I do believe that there should be more packaging difference than just power,BUT
A friend from UP Michigan was visiting with his NA FX35,one of the 3 fastest of those and we are both lowered and railess.Cars drive alike and sound similar but he had to downshift more and on my test hill he went 85 ,I did 80 stock and now do 105.Playing ,I short shifted at 5K,and partial throttle and did the 85...The 45 is a lot more powerful

A friend with a stage 4 FX35,worked trans(Level 10) raced a M45 and his FX was ahead to 60 when the M45 pulled even and then pulled ahead...Interesting story...With the Whipple there will be no need for the race

Sorry, did ot read the whole thread before postiing..mileage is about $300 more per year.I get 20.5 on the hwy.The 45 drop in a G was done in Japan and works well and the motor is built like a rock with 6 bolt mains

All I know is that M45 would easily pull away from me from about 55-60 as we were moving through traffic the other night. I was wishing from some more power to keep up.
