Wanted to powder coat my Akebono's in LA-So Cal area. Any suggestions/feedback would be much appreciated. I searched in the SoCal forum and last input was from 2013 and RaulG was suggested.

I had Reliable Powder Coating in Downey do my GTO wheels. It was a while back, so I don't remember the price, but I did call around and they were reasonable. I like the finish and they have held up nicely.

 

There are actually quite a few powder coat shops on the OC-LA area listed on Yelp, of all places. I would recommend checking there, and going with a shop with a high number of positive reviews.

What color you going with?

 

My recommendation is to have them painted rather than powdercoated. Unless you track your car, the paint will hold up fine. Plus you won't have to worry about rebuilding your calipers (the shop will just plug the brake fluid passages and tape over the pistons & seals).

I had my brembos painted by Auto Explosion in Gardena in 2009. They still look great.
