This thread is old but I wanted to chime in... I live closest to KM Infiniti..... But I actually bought my G37 from Escondido (I see it just recently changed owners). I got a free first service from Escondido and they were amazing. Ran over the some-odd point inspection line-by-line to me. Explained everything they did... Before the service I felt some shuddering in the breaks (just had bought a one year old pre-certified '09). I took it in and they had a TSB on the breaks. they applied the fix and the shudder is gone. I was worried it was warped roters. Again the service tech (Mike something I believe, can't remember his name) went line-by-line over the inspection form and told me exactly what they did. both times they were awesome.

It came time for my second oil change so I thought I'd try KM since they are closer. I dealt with a women (can't remember her name). they changed my oil (took just over an hour) and they basically rushed me out the door. The service advisor did not even see me, a friggin mechanic/tech wrang me up and didn't even mention any type of inspection but gave me the filled out inspection sheet. I will never go back there.

My girl just recently bought an '08 G37S coupe (with only 16k miles) from Carlsbad and they were just as awesome as Escondido.

I hope Escondido is still just as good with the same service advisors as before as I will be driving from the La Jolla area all the way back up there for my next service. I will be passing KM on the way and I will never go there again. Maybe it was just a bad day but the service they gave me paled in comparison to Escondido. I might try Carlsbad out sometime as its a hair closer and they were really awesome.

My $0.02....

^^Good info. I'm not impressed with KM Infiniti either, although I bought my car there.

I got my NAV system upgraded recently, and with knowledge of others bad experiences, I let them do the upgrade but...

I made them do the upgrade in the customer lot, never turned my key over to them, and I was present while they did the upgrade. It was just a CD/DVD based upgrade. I didn't want them to take my car around back. I hate the fact that some maintenance items can't be done by myself (without significant investment). Although KM is closest to me as well, I would likely go to Esco or Carlsbad for service items that I can't handle myself.

Thanks again for sharing your experiences.

This is good info as it's time to do the 45k service on mine, although I don't have a G37, I do have a 07 G35S and like most of you guys the closest Infiniti is KM. I do have a Nissan dealership where I bought the car from closer to me too. Have you guys considered letting a Nissan dealership perform work on your cars?

I never thought of taking the car to a Nissan dealer.... I dunno. It would be interesting to hear from anyone who has.

The great thing about Escondido is I was on a friendly basis with the service advisor (Mike Sardoughi (sp?) ) - and he knows I work just north of the UTC mall in the golden triangle and live down Genesee off Governor Drive... So I would take my car for service up to Escondido mid morning and he had a loaner ready to go for me.... I would take the loaner back to work and then go up early afternoon and pick my car back up (going up after the am traffic and returning before the pm traffic)... They always gave me a loaner G35/7 without any question....

My girl had such a great experience at Carlsbad I might give them a try. They have a new manager, a black guy named Bob something, Bob is killer! He was really professional... Since I already had a G37S Sedan and talked my girl into getting a G37S coupe he gave me a free trunk net just for the referral. I had asked if their parts dept was open as I wanted to buy the trunk net.... He said hold on a second.... And when we were taking care of financing my girls car Bob stopped by and just gave me a brand new trunk net in the bag for free... They were very professional and not pushy at all. It was the first good car buying experience I have ever had. We struck up a great deal right in the middle... We wanted a, they wanted c, and we ended up at b - for lack of a better analogy... They were great..

Just another thumbs up to Mike S. @ Perry up in Escondido. I never knew about the whole 'Ester' oil debate until speaking with Mike. I recently had them do a full detail (with clay bar -bday prez from my girl) up at Perry and Mike was awesome as always and the car looked better than th day I purchased it!!! We discussed the oil debate a bit and I will continue to use Ester myself, especially the way I tend to drive. Also had them balance and throw on some nice 19" oem coupe wheel/tires I recently scored (thanks again Floyd!). Anyway Mike was awesome as always and I will NEVER return to KM for anything. I was also happy tn find out Escondido is mod friendly. In fact Mike has a new G37S coupe with the stillen gen 3 with an hks exhaust and that they will install all of these aftermarket parts so it doesn't void your warranty (other than the aftermarket part you have them put on).

Thanks all for the responses. We should continue to share these types of experiences. I'll be hitting up Esco Infiniti for my next dealer related issue.

Riverside is definitely worth the commute from SD. They are very mod friendly and deal exceptionally well with their customers. I had no complaints about them when Rick worked there, unfortunately, I just recently found out that he no longer is a member of the team.

KM Infiniti...it is either hit or miss with them. I've been there 3 times so far and the first time was a decent experience. I was treated with respect but I did feel somewhat rushed. I can't complain about this though because I would rather get in and get out as opposed to lingering in the lobby. I was just here yesterday in fact and the service department was very helpful. A little reluctant to work on my car because it was modded but they still did it. The parts department HOWEVER was the WORST experience I have ever had at ANY dealership. He is the only tard working that desk and basically has no knowledge whatsoever of any of the parts Infiniti carries. He was impatient with my questions about the new '11 parts and was quick to give up searching for part numbers if they weren't found on his database within 30 seconds.

It seems as though you guys have had better luck at Escondido so I may try them next time I need to go to the dealership.

Just started checking this site out again. Definitely have to give props to Mike at the Escondido dealership. Haven't taken the G there in a while, but the last time I was there was for the seat wrinkle. He replaced it with no questions asked.
