Just moved to SE Florida, PSL area for now.

Any recommendations on quality tint shops and inspection shops in the area? This thread doesn’t look like it gets too much activity anymore but figured I’d ask. I need to have my tint redone since it’s starting to peel by my driver side mirror, and want it a little darker than the 35% on now from living in NC.

Also curious if anyone here has taken their G to RAV performance down in Wellington/West Palm Beach- I’m scheduling a ton of work to be done there, seems like the owner, Roberto, really knows his stuff so I’m hoping everything goes smoothly.

Welcome!

What's an inspection shop? we don't have those here.

As far as tint I personally would find a Llumar dealer that sells formula one pinnacle tint. https://llumar.com/na/en/find-a-dealer/

I personally do 15% all around on my cars.

Also I have not heard much about that shop. What work are you having done?

Haha, yeah it doesn’t look or sound like it from the car scene here which I’m definitely not complaining about. The cops in NC had nothing better to do than hassle you over tint and make you peel it off on the road. I was planning on 20% using Llumar or Solar Fx ceramic films (whatever is the best ceramic) and then having the the sunroof done with 5% so I can keep it cracked and the cover slid back.

The to-do list I have for RAV performance is long- it’s a big “restomod” project I’ve been piling up parts for in my garage and trunk. I’ll post a list below for giggles, it’s a good amount of labor. Some I might knock out myself but just moved and half my tools are in storage. Still waiting on my radiator to come in also, backorder fun. I’ve gotten lazy too so we will see what happens, lol. Another forum member mentioned ZFever in Tampa but I really don’t want to trailer my car there and don’t want to drive it there, as much as I’d like to have them work on my car. HPLogic sounds like it has gotten mixed reviews more recently, and I really want my car taken car of even if it’s not the nicest car in the shop. RAV Performance looks like they do just that, and from the reviews it sounds like the quality of work is top-notch. It looks like the owner, Roberto, specializes in Nissan GTRs (not R35s) and other JDM specialties so I’ll entrust him to install these parts on my G37. Happy to provide feedback of the outcome. He and I spoke on the phone when I called his business which was a very nice change and he was friendly and beyond knowledgeable during our conversation. The google reviews look promising also. This will be all I do to my car for a while, past the roll bar I’m planning. Maybe some Z1 2piece rotors eventually, and still considering a stillen air to air supercharger, but want to try these diff changes to see if it gives me enough of what I’m looking for.

That is definitely quiet the list! What you got for tire/ suspension setup? Planning for it to be a track car?

If you are thinking about going FI then you would want test pipes, CATS tend to melt when you start pushing more power. Cats do have a HP rating but it might be hard to find that info. And if you do go FI you actually might want to step down the diff ratio but I guess you'll feel it out.

I spoke to a buddy he was saying Rav is actually is ran by the previous Tuner and builders of HPlogic. He also mentioned another shop PROs (Performance Racing Options) is good too but Rav would be better for the type of work you are looking for.

Currently have Work Emotion ZR10 19x9.5 +23 245/40 up front and 19x10.5 +30 285/35 in the back running the Yokohama Advan Apex v601, my favorite tires for the street so far. Tein Flex Z coilovers for now and am pretty happy with them. Coolerworx short shifter and Z1 urethane trans mount are also on there, love the shifter. It's supposed to be a light-duty track build, and has a Southbend stage 3 daily clutch & billet flywheel in it already for the S/C I had planned for sooner (threw it in when my CMAK kit went on), and is only going to see T/A events and a few HPDE events. I'd like to do everything else first and rebuild my engine at 90k miles or so, and have it as bullet-proofed as possible before boosting it. Living with the stage 3 clutch until then is a risk I knew I'd be taking, but the RJM pedal and CMAK assembly help a ton, makes it not too bad. I want to run a roll bar (no harness bar, no full cage for head bashing) with my Bride seats and some Takata DOT approved harnesses for the street. Clip in 5 (maybe 6) point with HANS for track events.

I read a ton about test pipes and cats on supercharged VQ's on the370z, figured I'd try these until then esp since I'm holding off a little longer on the S/C, and if they start to burn out after the S/C goes on then I'll swap them for test pipes asap and weld in some Gesi cats into my H-pipe. Everyone said the same thing, but there's so little info out about these cats I figured I'd try them out. There's not too many resonated options, and these are the only HFCs using Gesi cats for the VQ I could find. The Gesi cats are known to hold up to higher hp & heat levels so maybe I'll get lucky. There's no HP rating info on the Gesi site for the 10025 cats, but a few online sellers have them listed as being rated to 350hp per cat, so they should (key word lol) hold up to 700hp at the crank for the VQ, so a 400-500whp S/C should be safe with these, if that info is true.

That's great to hear about RAV - appreciate passing the good word along to me!
