G35 Coupe Tows G37 Coupe

This weekend, half of our Team went to Austin to meet up with CentexVQ and have an amazing experience on 6th Street.

However, on the way over there, Jeremy (Black Betty) experienced clutch problems and his car wouldn't go into gear about a mile away from the hotel we were staying. Anyways, seeing as how we're from Houston and we were 2 hours away, we opted to tow his car back home to Baytown after the weekend was over.

With Jeremy's permission, I am posting a video up of the tow along with pictures of what his car looks like now since he got the Top Secret Kit painted and installed on his car.

I'll let Jeremy explain what exactly happened to his clutch / transmission.

Meeting up before the cruise to Austin.

After getting his car towed to the hotel. Jeremy's car would sit here all weekend.

And the video of the tow back to Houston / Baytown.

I am so lucky to be a part of a tremendous group of G enthusiasts and band of brothers who would never leave a member to fend for themselves. Good looking out to make sure me and Betty made it home. So now we all know definitively that a G35 can tow a G37 200 miles in 103 degree weather. Thanks guys. Especially you Anthony.

I'm astonished!!! 200 miles of towing on a "tie-down?" Is that legal in Texas? Reminded me of getting towed 45 years ago across the Bay Bridge from SF to the East Bay Area (maybe 30 miles) in a broken down MGTD by my dad's Oldsmobile with a rope...

That is a lot of coasting through Texas.

It's an actual tow strap made for towing. And the route was through the Texas Hill Country for about half the trip before it got flatter. Pretty challenging to coordinate all the braking needed on the hills. My boy Anthony is a true friend because he had to ride the whole way with no AC and the heater blowing on full blast to keep his transmission from running hot. It was well into the 100's yesterday. That's dedication.

I haven't had a chance to examine it yet so I really don't know. I'm almost certain that it's not the actual clutch itself, but something else in the hydraulic system that failed. I'll know soon hopefully.
