New Texas Seat Belt Laws

Did not see it posted here, but as some of you might be aware, starting 9/1/09 ALL occupants in a car are required to wear seat belts. Also no cell phone use allowed in school zones unless you are using handsfree. Details on the DPS website...

There is more also.

All children under 8 years old unless they are at least 4'9" tall must be in a booster seat. This is typically reached between the ages of 8 an 12.

Here is the link. http://www.txdps.state.tx.us/directo...n/pr081109.pdf

Welcome to CA Traffic laws, all occupants must wear seatbelts, no cell phones anywhere, no text messaging/emailing.

Beside the cell phone law, seat belts have been mandatory here for probably over 15 years or so. I actually almost feel naked without a seatbelt on in the car. I don't feel as connected without just that lap band to keep my *** in the seat.

Fortunately for me, I drive a G37, so I don't have to worry about the cell phone law.

PS...yes I know not everyone has bluetooth in their car...

Speaking of bluetooth, my sis just got a new A4 and one of the few things that I like about it over the G (the others being the LEDs and the Bang & Olufsen sound system) is the BT. As soon as I paired my Nokia 6300, the entire phone book was accessible through the system, no downloading business. Also call logs reflect the phone's call logs, unlike the G where calls made outside the BT system dont show in the dialed, recvd, etc. list. The numbers even have the cell, work, general icons that I have assigned to them in my phone.

I actually have a 3G iPhone myself and it works fine.

I wish that the Infiniti BT supported more functions though, like the Audi seems to.

At least Infiniti has a website where you can check cell phone compatibility, I thought that was nice of them.

I have always wondered if they could integrate a cover flow like function to the touch screen nav with the IPOD. That and integrated WiFi to transfer mp3s etc. to the HDD, just turn on the car and the HDD shows up as a NAS on your home network =0
