Got the 'ol CES light...yay!
So I've had my 08 G37 since November of 2008, it's not my daily driver...it's babied so much that my wife gets jealous
The car hasn't seen a touch of rain and only has 4400 miles on it.
So I'm driving around on I-20 at about 9:30PM a few days ago and the CES light comes on. I have three cars and the other two were in the shop at the time this happened, so I'm thinking..."Great!" now the third one needs to go in!
I take my car to Grubbs Infiniti (I would rather go to Sewell but Grubbs was closest and with all three of my cars in the shop at the same time, I didn't want to make a trip to Dallas). They put me in a rental and get back to me the next day.
Here's the load of **** I get from them...the P0240 code! This magical code to them means that I have a bad right cat and that my car is running to lean and I could BURN UP MY ENGINE!
They tell me of course that they didn't check for leaks, or check that the voltages they were getting off the O2 sensors on the right matched what was reading off the left cat...they didn't even pull the cat off and take a look to see if it was actually bad (black inside or melted parts or anything of that nature)...they simply did what I could have done at Autozone for free and THEN WANTED TO CHARGE ME $150 FOR IT!!! I refused to pay it and got my car and left. They didn't even bother to try and reset the ECU. I even mentioned how I'd heard about a "Mixture Ratio" value that could be cleared in order for the system to relearn my new setup, but of course...that's not something they can do. It kills me to have to deal with this dealership...because the sell Stillen Intakes that are extremely similar to the Fujita and they made it seem like the stupid guard that comes with the Stillen intake they sell makes all the difference in the world in regards to the warm air coming from the engine bay...what a bunch of tools.
Now the only mods I've done to the car are listed in my sig, I called up Tony at FI and told him about what I was told at Infiniti and man let me tell you...if you don't buy FI parts for the sheer fact that they are amazingly awesome...buy them because of how freakin' awesome Tony is to talk to and how helpful he is. I must also mentioned that I've had the Fujita's on since February and the FI exhaust and cats, since April!
Tony...if you read this man...you are f'ing cool as sh*t and I very happy with the level of service I've got from you and the products!
I spoke with Dan over at Scarab Performance and Tony at FI and we are going to get this problem fixed with some spacers for the O2 sensors. We are going to take the right cat out and check it out to make sure it's not damaged, which would be pretty rare. But if so, Tony is going to take care of me...you can't ask for better customer service then that!
I just wanted to make this post so that all my fellow G owners who read it can form their own opinions of my story...get a plug out there for my friend Tony at Fast Intentions, and Dan over at Scarab Performance...and so every can see the kind of service you can expect at Grubbs...the guys that try to pride themselves on performance parts.

so ur HFCs are causing the problem? or they are charging you because they touched a non oem part? if thats the case it makes sense because ur cats are non oem so they would charge tahts for sure.

Honestly, if their service was worth a damn they would have reset the ECU and cleared the A/F Ratio Self Learning value that is in the service manual (I downloaded one to check it out) and not charged me for it, everything would have been fine. Instead, they tried to charge me $150 for the same thing I could have done at Autozone for free.

Just an update:
Got the non-foulers in from Tony at FI, Dan and I put them on over the weekend and before we could even hook up the monitor to the ECU, the SES light was gone!
Gee...I should have listened to Grubbs Infiniti and replaced my right cat, right?!?
Thanks Tony and so far so good, no light on.

How do i contact Dan over at Scarab Performance? I have a sedan and would like him to install my HFCs and anti-foulers.
Where is he located and also I have talked to German at Gs motorsports, but he hasn't had the time to get me in

Dan is in Mansfield, has a very clean shop with lots of toys for your G or Z. He's super easy to get in touch with and knows his sh*t. He's currently putting a TT in a 350Z this week. I'll be getting a TT in my car in the near future and he'll most definitely be the one to do it for me. Give him a call.
