Good places around Houston to open her up?
Any of you Houston folks have a good route to recommend where I can open her up and have some fun? I was thinking about making that drive to to Brazos Bend but wondered if there are other good spots close by with little traffic and decent roads.

It may come to that! I did push it a tiny bit on the toll road this morning and had her over 90 but it was so effortless that I can't wait to actually TRY.

A brand new section of Hwy 99 (Grand Parkway - not yet connected to the part on the west side) opened up near my house yesterday. It's east of Baytown so it's probably far from you. It will eventually be a part of yet another loop around Houston outside of beltway 8. The new section goes from Baytown at business 146 to I-10 east of Baytown. it will be a toll road but is free until this summer. I didn't measure it (I will this evening) but it's a wide open stretch of 4 land divided that is very smooth and mostly straight. There are hardly any cars on it now because most people don't know it's open yet. It goes right by Houston Raceway park. Enjoy.

This weekend will be a terrible time as there is a big drag race at HRP and there will be lots of traffic and police around to regulate things. I've seen lots of the teams, sponsors, and vendors rolling by the house already.

Top speed for me on Westpark 120mph. It is amazing how quickly you can reach that speed.

9.1 miles. Mostly straight. All smooth concrete with gentle curves and gradual overpasses. There is one 4 way stop about 2 miles from the south end. Other than that, smooth sailing. A very nice view of Houston Raceway park as you pass right near it.
It's actually pretty nice from 45 to the loop I think. But here may be some of Houston's finest to spoil your fun if you are going faster than the posted speed limit.

thanks!
