signature length limit

I understand the desire for a limitation on signatures, but it seems very extreme how limited the length is on the signatures. Would love to see an increase. We can't even list basic intake/exhaust bolt-ons and year/model of our vehicle. It has to be shortened in so many ways.

Link to a pastebin with all your mods.

I hate forums where someone's sig is 30 lines long while the reply is a single line.

You're right. That works for all mods. And you're right of course about massive sigs. You aren't able to budge on character limitation at all? Something like this should still be on only one line and not even excessive:

2012 G37s Sedan, Fast Intentions resonated test pipes, SOHO dual exit w/ ThaiTanium resonated y-pipe, Stillen Gen3 Intake, tuned by XYZXYZXYZXYZ

or even

2012 G37s Sedan, Fast Intentions RTP, SOHO dual exit w/ ThaiTanium resonated y-pipe, Stillen Gen3 Intake, tuned by XYZXYZXYZXYZ

Look how it looks now:

It seems reasonable that it could be SLIGHTLY longer. The argument is that it's extremely common on this car to put on test pipes or HFCs, a catback and an intake and get a tune. The most basic level mods pretty much everyone does.

<Shrug> It's something the admins control. Also, it's my understanding when viewed on mobile device, the sig doesn't even show.

I know it's something you guys control lol. If it doesn't show on mobile that makes it even less of an issue to increase it. If you are giving this a hard no, I understand. I was just hoping to convince you with the discussion . Thanks for taking a look anyways.

Oh okay. I thought you guys used those interchangeably. I didn't pay enough attention, I guess. Well maybe they'll see it and consider it.

Isn’t that what a drop down is for?
Have only the first line or two or say 30 characters show automatically, and then the user viewing the page can hit the drop down to expand the signature and see the entire say 150 character signature. Best of both worlds. No one has to see your sig who doesn’t want to but it’s easily available for those who want to share it and/or view it.

Although I'm the Admin, sig line constraints for registered members is something above my paygrade. (Which is zero, LOL. We all volunteer here.)

The simple answer is this, if you want a longer sig line, purchase an annual or lifetime membership: https://www.myg37.com/forums/payments.php

I remember the days of never ending signatures. I wish I had something positive to say about it.

A link to the members thread has always been enough for me, in my opinion its: A front, a limitation to interested members to not check out your members ride, can be used to as a statement, lastly it adds more monitoring from a staff perspective.
This site has been one of the few that member's ride just dont get as much interest as random pictures in a post. Could be from the Social Media effect(digitally controlling one's attention feed). It could also be that users like myself just click the New Posts Icon and interact that way instead of actually checking folks out.

^^Ditto on the new posts button. It's the fastest way to read new posts since last visit. A single click opens up the entire list. From there, ctrl-click (or middle button click) to open thread of interest in new tab. Click on the white icon to the left of the thread subject to view posts since last visit.
