Lame A$$ vendors
Lame A$$ vendors
What's up everyone?? I recently emailed admin over on G35 Driver, about 2-3 days ago, still with no response, about my concerns. I, myself have not been burned yet, but I know many people who have. I believe the guys in charge on all of these forums should do a better job as far as allowing vendors to sell to us if they do not have an actual business license & address. They should not be allowed on these forums, period!! Lots of these guys have small operations and we the forum members end up getting screwed when thery don't ship anything out & take off with your money!! For instance, I have been going back & forth with CVR Motorsports, I recently tried to send them a certified letter, but in order to do that I need an address. Something they were not willing to give me!! In my situation it's not a big deal because I will handle it. But, many members do not have the advantage that I have of being in a different city every day & being able to locate people!! And fixing the problem myself.
I completely agree. I have not (thankfully) gotten burned by anyone and definitely have the resources to fix it if I do, but I have seen TONS of people get screwed by vendors that claim to have great stuff and then all of a sudden disappear with their $$-
IB will allow anyone who pays to become a vendor.
It takes very little to do business as a DBA, if you want vendors to be "legal"
Most forum vendors do not have storefronts, and do not have much, if any standing inventory.

While I understand your concern and am sorry to hear about your experience, you can't blame it on admins n mods 100%. You want us sending out units inspecting garages and vendor offices to make sure they're legit? There are vendors all over the US, it's not very easy to run background checks.
It is best to do your own research before pulling the trigger on any item. I apologize this happens to be the case.

I don't blame the staff of the board at all. It's the corporation behind it. They do not do any due diligence; they just accept money and turn your money green.
They have a reactive approach as opposed to a proactive one. It is a for-profit publically owned business after all.

Garage based vendors are cheaper priced because they don't have rent and other overhead cost. That's not always a good thing as people experienced from vendors like HP AUTOWORKS or AMTHOTMODS that ran away after accepting payments from customers and now you can't track them for refunds. Lesson learned people, cheaper is not always better. Most especially like new vendors with no physical address and no phone numbers on their websites or no websites even. I'd rather spend a little more than with peace of mind rather than paying a little less that can result to loss and agrevation.

Although I had all the necessary business docs (address, phone number, business license, tax ID, reseller's permit.....etc), IB did not ask me for any of them when I became a vendor. Only thing they asked for was my credit card number.
A requirement for at least some of those would be nice. Just to be put on record for traceability.
