A new subforum?

On some other automotive forums I'm a member of, there is a very useful subforum for tools/garage/workshop stuff. Let's call it "The Garage". It would have tool and equipment reviews, garage related stuff (like garage floor coating, tool boxes, cabinets), tips and techniques, and be a general place for those of us who are very hands on DIY guys to exchange information. And perhaps an education for those of us who aren't as handy but want to learn.

A tool FAQ. A place for reviews of what stuff works and what's crap. Photos of our workspace. A place to give others a heads up on what tools and equipment we've found on sale. Etc.

What do you guys think?

It's called organization. It works too if member actually place thing where they belong.

What about putting the info in the DIY section.

It's not strictly DIY, it's tool/garage/workshop specific. But if nobody else thinks it's a good idea besides me then it's not a good idea to change it just for one person's opinion.

What would be the difference between what you're suggesting and the DIY/Maintenance subforum?

The DIY forum is for just that, requesting or posting up tutorials about how to perform specific jobs like changing oil or brake pads.

The forum I have in mind is a little different. Stuff like which tools work well or suck. Where tools are on sale at a certain store this month. Organizing your workspace. How to properly read and use a torque wrench. Photos of your garage/workshop. Etc.

Unfortunately it seems like it's only a good idea to the 2 of us so it's not likely to happen. I should **** and moan and berate the staff since they aren't giving me my way. I pay for this site, they should listen to and agree with everything I say or I'm leaving!

A bunch of damn dictators!

I like the idea, I just don't think it'll get much use, nor should this site see another subforum.
