Greetings!
While finishing up my third decade as Boston's indie SubaruGuru I decided to grant my wife's request to get "us" now-empty-nesters a more upscale 4dr sedan that I would enjoy driving perhaps as much as my old 2001 S4 chipped 2.7tt. Reliability eliminated A4, 335xi too pricey and interior too austere; C300 seemed a bit small, "tan" interior too orange.
2010 Leg LTD 2.5i Sedan would cost me $25k...same as an '09 G37x when they come off lease from NMAC this fall. The Subie's attributes are rear seat space and VCT mpg...and of course my familiarity. But jumping to a seven-speed G37x at even $ seemed a no-brainer.
Well last week Enterprise dumped at auction a Lakeshore/Wheat 31k G37x in my lap for $25k. So here we go....
I HATE the mostly worn GY RSAs, wonder about proprietary trans and transfer fluids, ester oil, air intakes, and especially wheels/tires, so will try to post separately where appropriate.
First mod was to stick an empty rubber CV boot behind the accelerator pedal stiffen it enough to allow leg-resting and smoother response, especially from my otherwise squirt-gun-footed wife!
Cheers.
Ernie
