Ok, heres what you have to do.

If using IE, basically the same with firefox,

1. Log out
2. Clear your cookies(tools>Internet Options>Delete Browsing History>Delete cookies and form data)
3. Log back in without checking remember me.

Testing with I.E. 8.0. For the record I'm using Windows 7 Ultimate, 64 bit for my OS.

Okay, logging off and logging back on did work. Thing is, I did that before and cleared ALL browser cookies and history on the 23rd and it didn't.

Um..well good it's working now. Some avatars are still borked though.

So, if an admin or moderator fixed it, my thanks. If it 'fixed itself"..well, that works.

It would have been nice if someone posted this solution 3 days ago.

I don't buy that this is an individual user browser issue. This is too wide-spread for that. However, that does not mean that there could be work-arounds so tried the following:

1) Logged out
2) Closed browser
3) Cleared everything
4) Opened browser
5) Logged in

Can see all posts in the thread using IE8 UNTIL new ones are posted. So clearing the cookies, etc. only works a little and who wants to do that between every post.

Still no post ability in IE8 and some avatars still red x'd.

Windows XP, IE 8.0.6001.18702, 32-bit

Posted this with Safari 4.0.4(531.21.10)

I did what i posted above, with IE 8 and FF, and i dont have to do it between each post.

I just did it once, logged in without checking remember me and its been fine.

I still dont see avatars but thats the least of my concerns.

No-one posted it three days ago since it didn't work 3 days ago, to the best of my knowledge. :P

Like I said, on the 23rd I DID clear browsing history, cache and cookies and it didn't work.

And this isn't fixed, it's a workaround. I let it "remember me" and I couldn't post. I just now had to log off, log back on to be able to post with IE 8.0. So things aren't fixed yet.

So, with again no flames intended to the admins and other powers that be, things are still borked here, even if we can find ways to work around stuff now.

Anyway, it is different for everyone. Myself I have to at least let the site clear it's own cookie to be able to post here regardless of browser (well regardless of the two I've tried). So yes, things aren't fixed yet. Usuable, sure. But still a bit borked too.

Addendum: Also noticed that some pics in siggys are doing the same thing as avatars now, at least for me. Not showing up other then as a red 'x" in IE 8.0, or as a hyperlink in Firefox.

LOL, well yeah. I'm kind of a computer geek, I think that side of me makes me want to try to troubleshoot stuff, why I started this thread.

And good job on figuring out the workaround as an aside.
