Why are you throwing out bad 411 bro. Sounds like you are talking out of your rear end making those statements.
Truth beknown, myg37 started out prior to the launch of the 37 as a sub forum on g35driver which had the sig/avitar rules overthere.
Myg37 launched in august carrying over the same exact rules from driver to here. The avitar/sig rules have always been here since day one, not what you are putting out.
The sig rules were put in a long time ago cause there where some that really took advantage of them where people were complaining that the sigs far exceeded the size of the posts. People didn't know where the content of the post stopped and the sig started.
It became a case of the tail wagging the dawg. Ain't gonna happen here. If you are here for the sig as opposed to contribute to the community here, click a different url.
The sig/avitar whinners are a small (very small) percentage but very vocal of the people that sign onto myg37. Spend your time contributing as opposed to whinning.
Go with the flow peeps.

Sorry, I've been such the slacker to respond.
Yes, this site was included in the sale to IB, I just havent posted the announcement here like I should have. Will I will be posting in a bit.
\
So in short, this will be a win win situation for everyone and the sites will be able to progress to the next great level of evolution.

Me thinks "the change" was made to prevent regular registered members from putting pics in their sigs because even though it was not allowed/against the rules, a few people did it anyways. I remember a thread (before the change) where a member was asking why his sig pic was being deleted (by staff) and the answer repeatedly was something vague, not to the point. It took several posts by said member until they finally figured out that no sig pic was allowed for regular members. Instead of just making it easy and telling the member that, the particular staff member just kept referring the member to read the rules which some people had trouble understanding, (NOT ME)
But heck, it's not my forum, run it as ya'll see fit.

IMO, I think that the "tech person" that disabled the html to prevent the sig pics by regular members could not do that without disabling the html entirely, so now, thanks to some regular members that put pics in their sigs, (you know who you are) we now have no html capabilities whatsoever.
My solution was to make my "sig" in html like I want, save it in a text file and just add it to every post I make. To make things even better for me as a regular registered member, I turned off sigs and avatars in my user CP, so now as I read the forums, I see NO sigs (except mine) and NO avatars.
Works for me...
AND, for me, a premier membership is never gonna happen; I'm not cheap whatsoever. If I had to give one reason why I don't want to contribute, the answer would be one word, attitudes.
I know, I know, if I don't like it....
but I never said that I don't, just discussing things here okay...

So, was it "not possible" to disable pic hosting without killing html entirely or was it just not known how to make it happen?

Tank U!
The line above the text makes it look oh so real...
Now that that has come up, I might as well ask about the possibility of putting a tiny pic in the bottom of each post as shown below. It's premier member sized to keep in the spirit of the rules, although I realize this whole idea may not be in the spirit of keeping premier benefits for premier members. One reason I liked making the colored sig is cause I think as I mentioned above is that html was only disabled to keep out the pics and that colored text would have been still possible if it could have somehow been done.
I'll wait for a definitive answer before I make a habit of the new addition to my "sig"
Edit, boy now that I see it there I hope it's gonna be okay, it's a cool pic dont'cha think? It's technically not against the rules but I feel better asking first.

make a line above it with the underline key the same size as everyone else's real sig,
use the "preview" button to check the results, don't actually post it!
once you perfect it, copy it in raw html form from the compose box you originally wrote it in,
right click and make a text document on your desktop and save (paste) the raw "sig" there.
copy and paste it in every post from then on and un-check the "Show your signature box"...

i figured....but i still think we shouldn't have to do all that
The admin(s) who handles the server will need to answer the question but I do believe the html code was turned off for regular users to stop them from posting sig pics and web-links. I believe the color sig is ok but because html is disabled it is not possible. The admins have been busy with other things like keeping the site up and running so I don't know how high this is on their list of things or if it is on their list.
