HKS = manufacturer
SSQV = Super SeQuential Valve
BOV = blow off valve
Abcdefg = the first seven letters of the alphabet.

well said and thank you. I had guessed it was a tea kettle. I don't think I need one of those, no high pressure exhaust on either side, but It has a very technical name, and it kind of shines. I like shiny things.

All jokes aside thanks for the speedy reply, AND the education on the B.O.V. Is it for turbo or super charger, or can it be used for both? I plan on doing one or the other to my G in the not too distant future. I am leaning to the twin turbo side of the forced induction choice, as I like the longer power band, but a blower has a few positive attributes too. I haven't done all the homework yet. like most things I like to do it myself. I turbo charged a Shovel Head with a Ray Jay turbo about 30 years ago. That was an interesting 3 months...lol no kits back then just a few buddies and a stick welder.
cheers

A blowoff valve is only necessary in a turbocharger. It prevents the pressure wave from trying to reverse the direction of the turbo impeller and putting unnecessary stress on the bearings. A supercharger will have a diverter valve, if anything, and isn't prone to the same kind of pressure waves since the air compression comes via a belt driven pump rather than an exhaust driven impeller. There's little benefit to it on a SC. The blowoff valve just allows you to fine tune your boost pressure beyond the turbo sizing and the waste gate pressure.
