Hey guys - I posted this up in the Swift springs thread, but I was hoping for more input.

Car was lowered on Swift Sport springs 2 weeks ago and just got it aligned yesterday.

Running 20" (245/35/20 & 275/30/20) on some F14's. Here is my spec sheet. I'm wondering if or how critical getting camber kits will be. I certainly don't want to burn through tires unecessarily. Is being .3 degrees out of spec in the front and rear a big deal? Any input is highly appreciated.

 

You are not too bad. Our cars come with a little bit of neg camber from the factory. I am at -2.3 all the way around and I have a rear camber kit. Toe is really what chews up the tires. Do your wheels rub at all?

 

.3deg of 1.5 total degrees is 20% (.3/1.5). I'd say that's a considerable amount to be out of spec. Negative camber is inward tilt of the wheels, so the inside edge of the tires will wear faster.

There's specs, nominal specs, and actual specs. Yours seem to vary quite a bit from the nominal.

 

No wheel rub now (I did trim the fender/bumper tab in the rears). How long have you been at -2.3? Do you notice any excessive wear on the inside tire shoulders?

 

And yeah...that percentage is probably more than I am initially comfortable with. However I was hoping with so many people having more miles at - camber than me...they can share any actual tire wear experience(s).

 

I have been like that for well over a year on the front and about 4 months on the rear. My tires do wear on the inside first but then you just flip them and wear the other side.

 

Hey Kidcane and gonzo007, how low are you ground to fender apex? I'm at 26.125" with SPC front camber kit, but the arm hits. I'm considering taking them off (cause they suck), so I'm trying to gauge what my camber will be with the stock arms.
