the tuner that does the tune has the cable and does multiple tunes a day. the rom file is what will allow the tune to work in anyone's car. I am basically selling the rom file which is my tune to someone else that wants to get there car tuned by a authorized uprev dealer. again the dealer uses there cable to do the tune to be success. i dont see what the issue is. the license is not attached to the cable it is attached to my ecu#. once the tune (rom file) is removed from ecu it is not attached to any car and can be used to tune anyone elses car. just offering a good deal for some to get there car tuned.
Help me out becasue I'm seriously not understanding something. A cable (Osiris) is required to download the ROM file to the ECU of the car, correct? Only one license (software) may be used with one cable (hardware), correct? So any cable that is not associated with the your specific ROM file for your car will not work with it, correct? If that were possible, I could simply buy a cable and software license and tune my car, and then ship it to the next forum member and let him do the same thing on his car, then pass it around and only pay for the software once. Unless there is something that I'm missing, it's as Uprev explained it to me: 1 cable + 1 license = tuning for one car. To tune another car with the same license, the original car has to have the software removed or "unmarried" from that car's ECU and it can only be downloaded to another ECU with the exact same cable. The cable goes with the software, the 2 are not separable. So for you to sell the license, you need to sell the cable that goes with it in order for it to be usable.
Am I wrong?

Jeremy,
License and cable are separate, when I had my tune done at Stillen, thay flashed my ECU. I had to buy a cable to offload my license, if I wanted.
The license can reside only on the ECU, but can be parked on the cable. The cable has a chip to house the license.
The "pro" cable holds multiple licenses, only UpRev approved tuners get those.
If this is an honest deal, or the tuner is honest, then he can flash your ECU with a license, albeit, it will need the correct rom for your car.
To the OP, the license is ONLY $200, the tuner gets the rest for his work!!
You really cant sell your tune, what works on one car wont work on another.
The ROM file is useless without the license to precede it into the ECU.
The license can not be "sent", it has to follow a cable.

If that's the case, then when you get your car tune at a shop, they would have to have a cable specific to your car.
I think the license is tied to a particular ecu, and cannot be reused on another car until it communicates with uprevs server and verifies that it is unmarried.
A tuner contacts uprev, pays them for the right to assign you a license, then uses their cable to lay a map on your ECU.
I suppose it's possible to transfer a license to another car after Unmapping your car, but I'm sure that would require a reassignment fee or something

hey guys i have done this multiple times before. I sell my license/rom file to the new owner after it has been removed from my car. Once paid I send it to the new owner. I am looking for someone local so they can go to my tuner which is there tuner to get it done. My last tune was done at one shop and removed at another shop because i had the license and rom files and the guy who bought it from me went to another tuner to tune his car and had no issues. So at the end of the day if the buyer has the rom file and the license he or she will have no issues getting there tune done the right way from my tuner or any tuner that is authorized by uprev. I guarantee it. I am a honest person and would not hurt anyone.
Betty, he is selling just the ROM which someone would have to basically take to a tuner to have them flash it for them. Keep in mind though every car reacts dif to mods so this is a skeptical sale IMO.

The tuner has a cable that holds multiple licenses. The tuner buys licenses, to load onto his cable.
That is a "PRO" cable.
Osiris is attached to the cable to change the license parameters.
Either Tuner or Standard.
The license is attached to the UpRev modified ROM during download to your ECU.
By buying a cable you can remove the UpRev ROM, download a stock ROM, and revert the license to any cable that has no license on it. As I did.
The UpRev modified ROM, that your tuner tweaked, then resides on your laptop.
There is no server. I can go out to my car right now, remove the license from my ECU to a cable, sell you the cable, and you can use the license for any "Nissan" ECU. It must have a modified UpRev ROM to use with it. UpRev will supply the ROM free of charge. The modification is the code being cracked so your tuner can change the parameters.
so basically if someone buys my license they will have to go to my tuner to have the license applied to there car. it will work with any other g35/g37. They just have to go to my tuner. Local sale only. NJ NY PA CONN buyers only if interested. Then the tuner will run your car on the dyno and get it to the correct parameters to have your car running right.
nothing skeptical here. who ever is interested i can have you contact my tuner shop. JDS Motoring.
