What you are saying is they can go to your tuner and get a tune? Basically selling back your "tuners" pro license file. Not sure either you know what you are selling or can describe the actual return product.

Just FYI the ROM file itself has no value. I have 6 TT Rom files I can send at will but nobody can use them without a licensed ECU with either their own cable or a shop w a pro license cable.

The process is simple, buy license via pro shop, new cable or used cable that has been flashed back to stock in turn transfering the licence off the ecu and back to the cable.

Next you would have to contact UPREV and get the base file for your specific ECU model which varys by year and options on the vehicle.

Then a tuner could modify the base ROM or if you have the upgraded cable you could do so yourself if you fell safe doing so.

Selling a $300 ROM file is ridiculous. I think there is something missing from this.

my tuner has the cable. i go to him and he removes the license from my car. I am trying to sell the license with rom file. The buyer then goes to my tuner and the tuner installs my license to there ecu. This will save the new buyer 2-300 bucks. Then the tuner does what he has to do to get the persons car running right with the dyno. I don't see what the issue is. This is starting to become irritating. Its a very simple process. You guys are making it out to be more than what it is. Scaring people away from a sale.

I'm not saying anything to scare anyone away from a legitimate sale, I hate that. I'm trying to fully understand what you have going on here because it doesn't jive with what I know or think I know about how this whole thing works.

I notice you've now added additional important information that you didn't provide at the outset - local buyers only and that they must go to only one specific tuner to have their car tuned to make this work. That's pretty significant information that a buyer would need to know beforehand, don't you think?

So if I understand what you're saying now, this is the deal you're offering:
- buyer pays you $300 for a generic tune ROM file
- buyer must then go only to JDS Motoring and ask for Jazz to have them download file to their ECU (is this free or do they have to pay the shop additional $?)
- if they choose to remove ROM file for any reason they have to go to JDS Motoring to have that done too because no cable is included in this deal
- buyer cannot monitor any engine parameters themselves or make any changes themselves without Osiris cable that the tuner owns

Correct?

Thats sounds about right. Most of the uprev customers my way always go to the tuner to do all there tuning. I would prefer a pro do it than myself just in case i do any harm to my car. If i go to the tuner the tuner is responsible for everything. Plus i dont own a dyno and wouldnt want to. If the new buyer has a copy of the rom file they can have it removed or tweeked at any authorized uprev dealer. Only if the license is in there car and they have a copy of the rom file. I had to personally change tuners at one point. I received a copy of my rom file and switched tuners.

OP all you are selling is the Osiris license that costs $300 retail. These are not tied to any specific ECU, cable, or rom and can be transferred around. You need an Osiris license on the ECU before it can be tuned, but it is not "the tune".

You can't sell your tuned rom because even if you have another car with the exact same ECU part number and the exact same mods it will still need to be modified for that car.

Whoever buys this from you is still going to have to pay the shop for dyno tuning, and they will have to meet up with you at the shop so the license can be removed from your ecu by the protuner and then transferred onto the new guys ecu.
