Plastidip on the vert shifter and roof button pics

So I started and finished this on the weekend as both chrome? pieces were looking
pretty bad. Did some quick prep work and went to town with the plasti dip (mobile pics here https://www.myg37.com/forums/g37-con...ed-vert-2.html)

At first I applied too much too closely and was able to remove it and re-apply lightly from
12 inches away on the shifter. The roof button had a gap left where the button is surrounded by
the console, so plastidip removal with a box cutter was not difficult.

No more unsightly peeling on both parts now. Hi res pics below.

For some time now I had been thinking that maybe this plastidip-everything-on-your-car fad among G37 owners had gone too far. Now I'm 100% certain it has.

PD on the shifter won't last. I did my metal TWM **** in plasti-dip because I figured it would make it more bearable during the icy cold winder months, but after constant shifting it started to peel off after a few weeks.

Don't like it man. Leave the chrome on the shifter, looks better the way it was.

Hmmm interesting. Good feedback here. I'll see how long this lasts. Since it's AT with paddle shifters this does not get used much.

I like it the way it was originally before the peeling also. I could not stand the peeling, I had to do something. (Albeit, inexpensive(AKA cheap) and quick)

That's fine Mike. I respect that. I can't stand the peeling though.

Agreed, furthermore,
I think that using this "plastidip" product kills brain cells. It might be the fumes or simply reading the label, but it is definitely leading many people down "Dumb" street. (which is located in "Rice City")
You may think I'm trying to be funny, but I'm totally serious here, Plastidip is killing quality thinking, bringing ghetto style along with it.
Plastidip is ONLY good for low-budget, wanna-be-ballers... and they fail miserably, every single time.

Thanks for the honest feedback and opinions. The plastidip application has resolved a problem (fading chrome pieces) for me so I'm happy with it.

To be clear Lee, I only question your taste (which of course is subjective), not your intellect.

Hey man what's important is that you like it and it serves the purpose you intended. I think it was a creative and inexpensive way to solve an issue that was clearly bothering you.
