They guy ended up charging me $170 because I picked out a heavier vinyl that has a 5 year warranty on it. And the whole thing was about 4 hours including some time to sit in the sun afterwards.
Thanks for the feedback everyone

For sure I know it was money but with the 5 years that they will cover any peeling, chips, fades, whatever since its cast I figured it was worth it in my case.
I went with the matte black because even on the roll you can always see fine scratches in glossy black vinyl and the matte is going to go with my long term accents I am leaning towards on the car anyway. My paint color of the car looks so different during the day and night so I thought the glossy would actually end up standing out more which I didnt want and would be hardered to maintain long term.
When I talked to a couple good paint shops they wanted to take the pieces off to paint them right and the to really get paint to stick to chrome long lasting you have to sand it down and everything first. It seemed like more of a hassle at the time but without a doubt to each his own. I know I saw a on here somewhere where they painted the trim a different color which obviously with paint gives you a lot more options there.
I am going to have the grill trim painted later on when I do my headlights so that will be a good long term comparison on what the look is and how each area holds up.

I would have went with vinyl on a piece like that anyway because with a sedan you never know what the next buyer will want ( unless you're keeping it forever). With paint buying new chrome will just be one more thing someone will try to haggle you down with.
