My insignificant 'reveal'. (08 G37s Coupe)
Hi Guys,
I have been a long time lurker and an occasional poster to the site. I tend to keep quiet and soak up as much information as possible from all the experts here. So, with some hesitancy (as I'm not finished with the things I want to do with my G), I am showing her officially for the first time. She has been a labor of love and frustration, but I wouldn't trade it for anything.
My car is currently wrapped in a black metallic vinyl with gray sparkles. Sometimes it looks gray, at times even a bit like burgundy. My wife and I are about 90% done with wrapping the car.
Here are a list of my current mods....
Injen long tubed intakes (chrome)
Top Speed Pro 1 dual axleback exhaust
Drilled and slotted rotors
Performance brakepads
Akebono Big Brake Kit (painted metallic purple)
Customs LEDs and painted headlights
Blacked out front grill
Vinyl wrapped door pulls and steering wheel bezel
Vinyl wrapped center console and door trim
IPL anniversary edition front bumper
Projector fog lights
20" Stance SC-5 wheels
H&R lowering springs
Debadged rear
Slightly tinted tailights
30% tinted windows
10" Kicker sub in custom fitted enclosure
1000 watt amplifier
LED interior light kit
5000 lumen HID headlamps
Cusco strut bar
SPC front and rear camber kit
Front fenders rolled
Red and Yellow Electrical Grounding Kit
Kinetix High Flow Cats
Viper Alarm:
Exterior Proximity Sensor
Interior Proximity Sesnor
Vehicle Tilt Sensor
Body Impact Sensor
My wish list includes finishing the wrap, a tune, and possibly front and rear sway bars.
..and a few photos (be gentle please)

That's an awesome first reveal, great job on all your mods and a lot of work you've put in. Is this your first vehicle wrap? This thread is of great interest as I've done quite a bit of vinyl wrapping as far as grills, mirrors, vallance, interior trim, window trim, etc. I'm thinking of wrapping my G in the future and was wondering if it's a big jump going from the stuff I've done to a complete vehicle?
Also any closeups of the calipers?
Thanks for sharing those pics!

Thanks 02, In the last photo, you can see where the lower rear bumper is not wrapped. I need to figure out how to wrap that part and keep the vinyl away from the exhaust. The quotes I received for painting vs. wrapping was a no brainer.
Thank you blnewt!
This IS our first vehicle wrap, it took some pain learning how to manipulate the vinyl and planning the layouts, then more pain learning the application process. Now, we are a lot more confident in our technique. The last thing we did was the front bumper, it took us about an hour to complete, compared to 4 hours to do the rear bumper which was early on. With your skills, you won't have any issues, I believe anyone concerned about the quality of their paint should at least consider vinyl as an option, and because you have wrapped before, you won't have any issues. We used 3M 1080 and the quality is very good.
I will get a closeup of the calipers today.
Cheers guys!

As far as the rear bumper, that's one area I have done. Best way to do it is just drop your back muffler, not sure on the coupes but should just be about 4 bolts holding it in. You don't even have to fully remove it, just loosen it enough to drop it down a few inches to give you enough room to tuck the vinyl up in there. Here's a pic of the valance I wrapped, and I always use 3m 1080, seems to be the way to go.
Nice work Domate. That's a beautiful car, Brother. I was just in Raleigh / Durham last week on vacation. Man, I would have loved to see that car in person. Maybe it could help sell the wife on a few cosmetic mods I am struggling with. LOL
1st and last pic are stunning. I really wish the black metallic showed better in the pics. I have my stock wheels, grille and badging sprayed with black metallic and it looks so amazing in sunlight.
Healights are awesome! Excellent choice for the wrap, everything looks super clean and very very nice ! well done!
