It looks awesome. I'd like to do the same to my engine cover. Can u list the exact materials I'd need to get the job done. And that all the supplies be bought at a local auto zone?

Joe6mtt, unfortunately none of the materials used on this can be bought at a local autozone, the paints and clears used on this are the same materials used on vehicle exteriors, this is not aerosol spray cans, and is not cheap either, however the end result finish is glassy smooth and resembles metal, and not the rough, texturey plastic cover it actually is

I think you find yourself a time machine. JP had crazy skills. You should see his brake caliper projects.

But seriously, what you'd have to do is find a body shop that has the experience and talent to do custom work with professional grade materials. And be prepared to pay a lot for their time.

Beautiful. Yeah using proper automotive clear makes a huge difference. I have more of a wrinkle black theme going on with mine, so I kept the cover rough, but this year might mess around a bit. Great inspiration, and I totally approve on colour choice, not biased at all hahaha.

I guess a lot of the users have moved on from this forum...sad, but still great cars.
