roebling track weekend (lambo, viper, gtr's, etc)

well its been quite a while since ive been on here. stoof hit me up a while back and dashkid found my new track vids on youtube. figured id come say hello and see how everyone was doing. kind of bored with forums lately but started tracking the car and thought id share this past weekend...

had an amazing time at roebling road this past weekend. headed up with howard, ron and matt from orlando then met up with sharif and some other gtr owners. definitely my favorite track event to date. ill let the pics speak for themselves.

jays new t/a 370 interior

vids are up! only did a couple of the cool 1s.

gave ron the point-by in his gallardo and tried to keep up - good thing for traffic ha. my 1st instructor was kind of annoying.

chasing howards amg c63 around. @ 10:15 he breaks loose but saves it really nice. stupid camera cord came loose.

Couldn't help but notice how different the lines were between the c63 and the G (I thought you took better lines). Also that C63 hauls @ss boy, that thing just pulls away on the straights.

I do have a question about your setup though. In a recent C&D article they pointed out how badly the 370's brakes were compared to the other cars after about 5 laps. Care to comment about your experiences if you were running a stock setup?

very awesome. i have a couple questions for you, how did the stillen splitter hold up? stillen says they werent designed for high speed and it would suck if it flew off when im doing 120+ on a straight. also, do you have stillens sway bar set? the front bar is much stiffer than stock and im just worried itll make the otherwise neutral turn-in become more understeery.

edit: how about just a list of your mods! and a bit on how they felt compared to stock if you are able.

Looks like a great time, the videos were great. Where did you mount the camera in your G?

PS. What's with the second instructor pushing your hands? I'm all for criticism and learning but I would be pretty irate if someone touched my hands while I was steering a car during a high performance situation... or any situation for that matter.

hope i get everything but let me know if you have any more ?s...

benz - ya my lines are cleaner than his thats why i was pulling him in the corners but he left me in the straight. car sounds so wicked too.

mods are basic: eibach pros, stillen sways, 245/275 invos/s.drives on stock wheels, 15mm spacers all around, project mu ns pads, motul 300v oil and rbf600 brake fluid. rest are cosmetics really.

stock - i only had the car 2 weeks/500 miles stock before i took it apart so not much to compare to. i had my g35 stock longer and these cars are just a boat when it comes to stock handling.

splitter - i used 8 bolts/nuts instead of the screws and double-sided tape for the splitter. ive had the car up over 140 mph numerous times and its held on just fine.

sways - i have stillens set at med/med and the car handles well with a little bit of oversteer.

akebonos - good with the project mus but you really need a track pad and some better rotors to really use them. that or just get a bbk.

camera - i built my own mount for $10 at home depot. was pretty easy.

instructor - 2nd guy was way better than the first idiot i had who had me doing a momentum line for a lighter/slower car. the hands thing was a little weird at first but he did it smoothly not jerky.

btw heres info and a pic of the camera mount:

hm...i cant remember really now. i know the g35s were 3 way. you might be right that the 37 is not. i know theres a thread or 2 on it if you search.

engine never overheated but i limited my shifting to keep the trans from overheating. i ran the back turns all in 4th gear because at zdayz/tail of the dragon i overheated it after going 2-3 a bunch of times and back. a thermostat and/or trans cooler would help that.
