From Z to G

Well I finally said good by to my old 300ZX. Great car, I had it for 10 years. I pulled every nut and bolt on that car apart at least once. Looks stock on the outside but pretty highly modified on the inside. Fastest car I've ever driven! My boys were very sad to see it go. They have been handing me wrenches for the past few years and they loved that car. In fact, rides in the Z were the only thing that worked as a reward when potty training them. Strange but true.

Anyways, the new owner of the car let me take a few snaps of the boys and the Z before he drove it away...

Now on to the G! It's a blank canvas ready for modification. I can't wait!

Only flavor available so far is GTM You're left with choosing a stage number though haha

Agreed, they are simply too complex to keep on the road after they get on in years. Old, simple, muscle cars are great! Old, high tech sports cars are a maintenance nightmare.

I think we will see more FI solutions join the party in the next few months and if someone can figure out how to hack the timing and valve control system it will open up a whole new set of tuning possibilities.

I had big turbos, big injectors, big intercoolers, etc, etc. Very quick car. Sometimes it feels like the G is towing a trailer compared to it but that's nothing a little boost can't solve.

Very nice Z!

Just wondering, how much did you let her go for?

I got $6K for the Z, It had 180 000 miles on it. Much less cash than I would have got 2 years ago but the bottom fell out of the market for cars like this.

You can get some awesome deals on fairly low mile 300zx's right now on e-bay.

DIGI.... you should come out to our meet on Sunday at 6:30. Uptown Park. Its a bit of a ritual for the G37/35 owners here in Houston.
