Ok DGCIALP maybe you should read my first post. Here I will make it easy for you and quote it:

DetroitG37Joe, this better not be your cat!
Lets get a couple things straight. First, I didn't call you and the other two members idiots. I said that your posts were idiotic which means: showing complete lack of thought or common sense. Read the post again. Second, my issue was not that the cat was necessarily walking on my car BUT that it was happening only after I would wash it. I actually found it a little funny because if I left it there a couple days and it got dust then there would be no prints but as soon as I cleaned it the next day the cat would walk on it. I posted it on here partially because of DetroitG37Joe's cat thread and to share with the community something that happened with my G. I expected garage comments but not comments about my financial situation. Those post were idiotic. You posted about my financial situation when you and others said that if you cannot afford a garage then you shouldn't own a nice car so I responded with why I don't live in a place with a garage. Maybe you haven't realized this so I will clue you in on this...this is a forum for G37 enthusiast! As this is a forum, members will post thing that happen to their car. It is brilliant actually. I mean should the next time someone post a comment about how their G got keyed or about how their muffler makes a popping noise should you just tell them that if they cannot afford a bodyguard or aftermarket exhaust for their G then they should own (in your words) a nice car? Ya and if you try to say those are different things they are not. If it is a story about what happened to your G it is the same thing. And DGCIALP just like how 2¢ is not worth anything today, please take your 2¢ and put it in a penny jar until you save enough to buy yourself a soda or until it adds up to something of value.

And you might want to take notes on CHI-TOWN's post. He apologized for the financial aspect of her post but still made fun of me which is really COOL with me.

My first dog at age 5 was killed with strychnine, so I'm a little sensitive to this hurting pets thing.

Will any of you PETA loving animal rights activists who are so incredibly appalled at even the idea of harming an animal tell me that you are and have always been 100% vegan? No? Then you are hypocrites.

I agree that it's obviously not exactly the same thing to execute a cat as it is to eat a steak, but in principle you are not only condoning animal cruelty, abuse, torture or whatever you choose to call it, you are encouraging it. They don't exactly treat chickens, cows, pigs, etc. in a humane way while they are being raised or slaughtered for your dining pleasure. I've seen it first hand and it ain't pretty. BTW, I also hunt. With a gun. I'm the guy who shot Bambi's mother between the eyes and then I ate her liver with some fava beans and a nice chianti. Apalled? She didn't even damage my car either.

I draw a distinct difference between human life and animal life; maybe some people don't. While I'll concede that there are other better and more civilized ways to handle the situation, killing the cat is a simple fix to a solution of the problem of it's owner being a jackass and letting his or her "precious friend" destroy someone else's hard earned property. My undersanding is that it's not a one time thing, it's continuing which shows me the cat's owner just doesn't care about the OP's car. If it were someone's pet rat whould anybody complain about killing it? Not likely. Again, it's not the car owner's responsibility to take measures and go to expense to protect his belongings from somebody else's pet, it's the cat owner's responsibility to control their pet from damaging sombebody else's property. If they give a crap about their pet and respect others possessions (like you'd expect me to respect their cat), we dont have an issue do we?

The "you should park it only in a garage" argument is complete BS to me. I own all my property, not just the part inside the garage. I should be able to reasonably expect to park my car anywhere on my property without it being damaged by others.

To hell with the cat and it's owner.

bboy,
You’re way off base here with me for sure.

I did not post about your financial situation, others may have, but I did not! I never used any word like “afford”, I merely said “if you don’t have” a garage… you could be a rich bitch and still not happen to have a garage for many different reasons…<indisputable…

Remember, don’t a$$-u-me anything here.

I already know the definition of idiotic.
Watch how you throw words around; if you say that someone wrote something “idiotic”, that IMPLIES that an idiot wrote it, it’s close enough.

My first post in this thread was not even directed at you, it was a general statement:

/\ I would never, ever, purchase or even lease any nice car if I did not have a garage to park it in...
My 02¢;

People” does not mean “you
wait until they have the garage” does not mean “wait until they can afford the garage” Apparently you see what you want to see.
This was posted in your thread but it was not directed at you, it’s a general statement. I choose my words carefully so as not to incite people. If you have to go off on members for making simple opinionated statements, perhaps you should not have volunteered to promote and regulate. Seriously, you should hold yourself to a higher standard, elevate yourself, set a good example. Save the belittling comments for another forum where you're just another registered user.

I suppose you’ll make the last response in this thread and then lock it so you get the last word; well maybe not now ‘cause I’ve predicted it…

Hey DGCIALP, you are right as far as your comment goes. I went and looked over it again. It did not specify anything about the ability to afford a garage. I was a little furious when I saw the post from others and added you to my post due to me reading something that was not there so I apologize. I read your post last night and again it ticked me off due to you questioning my modding and me calling individuals idiots. I idiotic statement was directed toward the comments which I explained. And finally, such as I shouldn't assume you should also take that advice yourself. I will let you in on a little secret, individuals that are mods are usually asked to do it. They don't request to be a mod. I choose to be a mod to help the site and to help the individuals that use this site. I don't close threads after I get the last word. I would leave it for another mod to do that and since our post are really only breaking one rule (off topic) there shouldn't be a problem since I am the OP. You are voicing your opinion and I am voicing mine. I have always been told to defend your position and stand up for what you believe BUT don't be arrogant and think you are always right and admit when you are wrong. I try to live by these rules both in the real world and online. I say we leave this as alone now but if you feel that we still need to discuss this then feel free to PM me.

Ahem... mine doesn't say you can't "afford" it either.. it merely says you don't have it.

I'm just speaking to the fact that since having my car look good (not dusty, animal prints, neighbors kids accidentally crashing bicycles into it, etc) is a high priority, I park my car in a garage.

Since you posted about how you were upset that your car did not stay clean outside, I was assuming that you are claiming to be the same type of person and thus I was pointing out the flawed logic of claiming you love your car but then leaving it outside for whatever to happen to it.

Before I had a garage I had a mitsubishi galant and a chevy cavalier. Both got door things, animal prints, etc from the actions of people who see cars as a transportation appliance (most of the population). But I didn't really care -- one cost me $17k and the other $2000.

IMO it is unreasonable to expect others to give a crap about your car-loving nature.

I really cannot wait to get a garage. Just need to decide where I want to move to and send out my resume. I saw the cat a couple days ago and got it to come over to me so I could pet it. It had no tags and it was nice.
