Front Window Tints

Was wondering what most guys do for the front windows?

I read up on what is legal for California and understand it, but is enforcement that picky about it?

What percentage would you guys recommend for the fronts if one were to tint the fronts?

Considering that you’ve been a forum member since 2010, I don’t understand how you missed the multitude of threads on this subject, including those from many California members.

Guess I did not search hard enough and read-up a bit.

My understanding was that no tint is allowed on the front windows but in this thread, a few member, including yourself are saying it is 70%. Is it that at 70% it is hardly noticeable?

I have not tinted my car before and understood that only OEM tint, if any, was legal.

Yes, in California no tint is allowed on the front windshield other than the top 4” that already has some OEM tint. Front side windows must be no darker than 70% and anything is allowed for the rear windows. And as you say, 70% is hardly noticeable.

But at the risk of repeating myself many times over, I recommend legal tint; not for the possibility of being pulled over or not, but for the night driving safety factor.

I understand you repetitive statement about tint safety and I agree with it.

Thanks for looking out and thanks for the confirmation/clarification.
