Transmission lag fixed at Pleasanton Infiniti

I would recommend Pleasanton of Infiniti to my fellow g37 7AT owners that experiencing transmission lag. I filed an online service schedule and complained about my transmission being lag and harsh downshift. Within an hour they called me and offer me an appointment 3 days later. So on my appointment day I went in at 10:30AM dropped my car off, and were given a loaner g37 sedan for the day. Got my car back the same day at around 5:30PM and on the invoice, it stated found transmission program ITB12-027D and reprogrammed. After the reprogram the difference were very noticeable as the car will accelerate much faster and smoother. I am very pleased with their service and their adviser. If anyone have the similar problem as me do not hesitate and give them a call. My adviser was Amit, a very cool guy.

hmmm is it just me or do I have the worst experience with dealers? Everytime I bring my G in for something that I feel isn't normal, the service advisors tells me to screw off saying its how a G is without even letting a tech see it...

First there was a steering wheel rattle whenever I go canyon driving, second the bluetooth player always at least 3 times a month never works and music never plays on my car. Third as we all know of the throttle lag and shake problem in the G. Fourth certain days when I start up the car and slowly drive off theres this metal to metal scratching sound that I hear...I thought Infiniti service dealers were suppose to be awesome. Coming over from a Lexus they even gave me a loaner one time and I drove it from socal to norcal and back

I've always educated myself on the forums, then gone into the dealership with ideas and potential suggestions. I try to treat them like a partner as opposed to an adversary. I've lived in 3 major cities and in each I have found a dealer in each region that respects the type of relationship I cultivate with them.

I do however see that some of you guys have bad experiences, but I am not sure what's different.

I too have those steering wheel rattles but not that noticeable if you turn the music up a little. The throttle lag can definitely be fixed by reprogram it according to the latest service bulletin. The metal to metal scratching probably your exhaust heat shield or cat head shield. Maybe you can give Pleasanton a try and see what they say. Good luck.

I never talk in a douchebag way to the service advisors I'm always as courteous as possible but I guess it seems that they think they can blow off a younger kid?

yeah went to Lexus of Pleasanton told the service advisor about it, he sat in the car for less than a minute and listened to it, and said it was normal and sent me on my merry way...as the the metal to metal it seems as though it's coming from the brakes, I can hear it sounds like a circular grinding noise, like when you sharpen a blade.

Did you have your brakes check? It sounds like your brake pad's metal is grinding on your rotor.

Service writers shouldn't care as they are much like any good sales person and should see you as a series of transactions over a lifetime. In addition, younger folks tend to be more open to spending alot of their disposal income on a vehicle. If it were me, I would cater to the younger crowd.

nope they wouldn't even bring it into the techs, that's weird though it's a brand new car had about 6k miles on it when it happened.

I went to the dealer and they told me I had the latest transmission software. But I still feel the transmission is slow to downshift. Does this sound about right?

How much did the fix cost? My 09 sedan also lags. I have always wanted a fix but never had the time.
