We can find something Altoona if it comes down to it. I'll want to hit the road before 7pm, as in trekking back that night.

It truly is a bummer that I most likely won't be making it to the meet because I have been looking forward to it for several months, but new job opportunity is obviously much more important, sucks I'm most likely not coming unless the dates get pushed back even further then maybe I'd make the out of nowhere appearance
Hey Mike...you are definitely right. JOB is much more important. I'm hoping to be part of many more meets after this. and hopefully I'll get to meet you at one of them. Best of luck with the new job either way.

Remember guys, this is a PA State Park, so alcohol is prohibited. Similarly, Pennsylvania is decidedly NOT friendly to cannabis. AFAIK, even medical cannabis from your state is illegal in PA. Small amounts will get you arrested, so make good decisions. And if you don't, then be sure to share.
12pm is cool with me. and I don't drink alcohol or indulge in recreational stimulants...so I'm cool either way. but hey...do your thang. but I'm not bringing money for the bail-out fund.

So, who's staying overnight in the area and where? I'm not feeling two back-to-back four hour road trips in the same day.
After our event is over I'm heading to Carlisle to meet up with my uncle and cousin who are taking their corvettes to the show, possibly spending the night over there.

Okay. We are all in.

We just booked a room at the Courtyard a bit west of Canoe Creek. The kids like the idea of a dip in the pool rather than another two-and-half hours on the road. Apparently, the Marriott's pool holds an appeal that ours simply doesn't.

Anyhoo, we are looking forward to a little road trip and some G camaraderie.

It's close to the park, in the other direction.

It looks beautiful. If anyone wants to book a couple of rooms there with me, I'll do it. Love to have a home-cooked breakfast before heading home.
Nobody else interested in this place? I'd be happy to split a double-occupancy, if someone wants.

If not, I'll probably hit up the Days Inn. It's a brand new facility, and clean, for $101.

Noon works for me.

Also looks like Rochester also signed up for pasta salad. I'll switch up to a layered taco dip so we don't duplicate.

I'm on vacation for the weekend but will update the master spreadsheet tomorrow and post an updated copy. We should be pretty well covered for supplies. I'm going to try and grab as many members as possible to come join us. We have 30 available parking spots - so plenty of room for additional cars.

Normally, I clay & wax both cars in late Fall and early Spring; (before and after winter.) And I do an additional clay & wax on the G sometime mid-year. But I've been holding off on that summer prep because of this meet-up. So that happens this weekend.

On that topic, does anyone tape their front bumper for road trips? Getting 300 miles of bugs off the front end is never a pleasant prospect.

And is anyone else getting their car ready? Any last minute mods? Connor, how go your plans with the RJM clutch pedal assembly?

Do tell!! I've never heard of that I figured bugs were part of the bargain.

(I sure hope your response doesn't trigger an obsessive episode for me )

I'm planning the same probably for around Tuesday or Wednesday.

I thought about doing the tape, prior to heading to philly, but not sure how long the tape can stay on. Would I have to take it off in philly and then re-tape when heading over to the meet on Saturday?

Painters blue tape, doesn't damage the paint or leave any residue when removed.

It's a relatively common thing for cars driven to auto shows, meet-ups, etc. Simple blue painter's tape, or Frog Tape. And if you're really **** about road debris chipping the paint on the way to a show, some people put the painter's tape on first, and then duct tape over that.

IDK man... I might frog tape part of my front bumper for the trip.

Right now I'm about half done with the clay & wax. I need to take a break. Ow, my neck! LOL
