Crappy Start - Crushed Stone Truck in Central CT

This morning driving on the highway (691 to be specific) to work in Wallingford, CT my new IPL was pelted by stone that was bouncing off the back of a stone delivery truck. Four large chips on the hood and 10 smaller chips/nicks on the front bumper. Needless to say, I am pissed. I was so focused on trying to get out of the stone storm that I missed the company name on the side.

Does anyone know of a company that delivers crushed stone in Central CT with a name like R.?. Stone or something of that nature? It was a smaller sized lanscaping truck, reddish color with black tarp on the back.

Best Regards,

Michael

I feel your pain...

get the parts painted since your paint is still fresh.. will be easy for them to match the color because you have no fade.....

Of course they are liable for the damage. Their unsecured cargo came loose, fell off, and damaged his vehicle. They can ge a ticket for that and can be sued if they refuse to pay. This is what I do for a living.

They would not be liable if it was a road hazard, such as a rock or piece of debris that was kicked up off if the road by their tires. And in that case they might still be liable if their mud flaps weren't in compliance with state regulations.

Of course you have to actually know who they are and document it at the time it happens to get anyone to accept liability. Even if he you d out who the company is now its far too late for anything to be done about it unless the company was just feeling particularly generous. He's SOL at this point.
