Angry SEARS Auto at the Fairoaks Mall

Just thought I’d share the experience I had with Sears Auto. I took my G to Sears Auto last night to have (2) rear tires mounted and balanced, (4) TPMS’s swapped out and an alignment. I choose the location because it’s a couple miles away from me and my car is completely stock with the exception of a mild drop. I couldn’t think of a reason why something as basic as what I’ve Iisted couldn’t be done there. When I went back to get my car I came back to 3 scratched rims and my TPMS light was on. Needless to say, I was ****ing pissed. I’m not sure how/why my rims were scratched because the tech that performed the work had gone home. Judging from the scratches I’m pretty confident that it was caused by the mount machine. They took photos of the damages and assured me that they would take care of it; I expect that they will. The guys who handled my initial claim were professional and reassuring. Although the claim was handled well I am not confident in their tech staff. I will NEVER take my car back there. It’s clear that tech either had no regard for my car or rushed the job. BTW, this morning I noticed that my steering wheel isn’t even straight. I am very interested in seeing how my claim is handled and I will be requesting a refund on top of my damages claims.

Sears auto bought me an entire set of OEM Mustang LX 5.0 alloys on a 3 week old car (putting much better rubber on the car) back in '89 I think it was. They managed to gouge and scratch every single one of them.

After they bought them from a local Ford dealer, then THEY paid to have the install and tire transfer done somewhere else! They still had to honor the warranties on the tires . I paid elsewhere to get balance/rotate done, was never going there again.

Same thing happened to my parents a few years ago. End result was they got all new rims. However, even though the on site manager stated they would take care of it, it took my dad calling the district office and putting in a formal complaint to get it resolved. Then it was like a month before they Fixed the problem.

My parents, nor I will take any car to sears ever again.

I can totally see that being the case. I expect to ride their asses after Thanksgiving. I'm also going back there to get a refund for the work they performed. My steering wheel isn't even aligned after the alignment.

You tend to get big box service at big box chains.
