Warning: Do not go to performance motorsports
I just got back from a clutch install at Performance Motorsport and had a TERRIBLE experience.
Here is the story: I call up the shop and inquire on the price for a clutch swap. I clearly informed the clutch was OS Giken clutch. They told me the price was $300. It was a good price so I brought the car in. The techs in the shop were great. They knew exactly what they were doing on my turboed G37 and the clutch install was very professional.
My car went up on the lift at 3:00PM and came off around 5:45. When I went to pay for the labor, the owner all of a sudden wants $660. He said that the shop rate was $110/hr and there were 2 techs working on my car. So that counted for 6 hours of labor. But he said he'd give me a courteous $100 off. At this point, I was thinking WTF. I came in because they told me it would be $300 and now they want double. I never asked for two technicians to work on my car. WHAT HAPPENED TO THE QUOTE YOU GAVE ME?
I told him all that and he pulls out some ******** about having to rethread all of the flywheel bolt holes. I was watching the techs almost the whole time and it was only ONE thread that had to be fixed.
I got extremely pissed off and I ended up arguing and yelling at him for 20 minutes before he reluctantly dropped the price to $450. He still ripped me off by $150 bucks.
In short, the boys in the shop do great work but the owner is running a bait and switch scheme. If you dont want to get ripped off, dont take your car there.
THEY WILL MAKE ANY EXCUSE TO OVERCHARGE YOU!

Get the estimate in writing
Technically, 2 guys working for 3 hours is 6 man hours
However if you were quoted a flat rate, then it doesn't matter. If it takes then 1 hr or 10 to do it.
I wonder how complicated this is to do yourself with the car on ramps or jack stands and a trans jack underneath,...

My problem with the situation is how the owner tried to lie to me and make up excuses to charge me more. The install took 3 hours. I didn't need nor ask for two techs. Having two people doesn't mean the work is done in half the time. Most of the time, only one guy is working on it anyways. A job done by 2 take may take 3 hours, but the same job would've been done in 4 hours by 1 person. It wouldn't take 6 hours.
And second of all, they gave me a flat rate. Sure, unforeseen stuff comes up. I would not mind paying 50 or 100 more for fixing 1 bolt thread. But this guy has the audacity to double the price. There is no integrity or honor in this shop. The owner is a thief.
