Hey guys, having some issues with my car starting it‘s a 2008 with only 58k , infiniti is telling me it’s an issue with my timing chain. And quoted me $5600 to fix it.

I know I can find it some place for cheaper to repair, any recommended shops around the northern Virginia area??

I’m so upset man, 12 years of owning this car and come across a major issue that shouldn’t be one to begin with!

That's crazy how the dealership can narrow it down to the timing chain to start your car. Or does it says recommend?
last time I checked if it cranks the engine is turning. The paper work says there is no spark ,even if you replace the chain I can bet there will be no spark.Sounds like a electrical problem to me.
My recommendation to you would be get a second opinion, not form a dealership, just my opinion

I'd agree that no spark doesn't sound like an issue that'll be resolved by replacing the timing chains. Did the dealer do a compression test to verify the timing is off? They can do a compression test or use a picoscope to see cylinder waveforms while cranking to see if you have a physical timing issue. A pico test will easily show if the chain has skipped a few teeth, broken all together, etc, and is MUCH cheaper to perform than tearing the entire front of the motor down to replace the chains and sprockets. I can't help with finding a shop in your area as I'm not local, but you definitely need someone more competent to diagnose the issue. There is a lot of good diagnosis information on the report, like continuity from the ECU and coils, as that shows you likely don't have a broken wire anywhere, but I'm much more inclined to believe you have a sensor issue somewhere rather than a timing chain issue.
