Manassas man fatally injured in Springfield street-racing crash

All I know is that it wasn't me!
Manassas man fatally injured in Springfield street-racing crash - INSIDENOVA.COM: Crime & Police

A 30-year-old Manassas man suffered fatal injuries Wednesday night after a crash while racing another driver on the Franconia-Springfield Parkway car.

The wreck happened shortly after 11 p.m. Witnesses told police a 2001 Honda S2000 convertible seemed to be racing a dark, newer model Infiniti, with both vehicles passing each other several times.

The Honda driver lost control coming out of a curve near Spring Village Drive, veered off the road, struck and embankment and a tree and landed back on the parkway, rolling over and landing upright in the southbound lanes, Fairfax County police said in a news release.

Brian Benjamin Blaine was taken to Inova Fairfax Hospital, where he died shortly before 8 a.m. Thursday, police said.

Police say speed was a factor. Anyone with information about the crash or about the Infiniti involved is asked to contact Crime Solvers by phone at 1-866-411-TIPS/8477, e-mail at www.fairfaxcrimesolvers.org or text “TIP187” plus your message to CRIMES/274637 or call Fairfax County Police at 703-691-2131.

Wasnt me either. My car is red. Its been cold or wet here for the last week or so. Seems to switch back and forth so why would you race. You shouldnt be racing on the street anyway though but why race when you have bad traction. On a side note.... whos ready for snow on sunday

I'd be surprised if it even makes its way there... Of course, the roads'll be gridlocked, lol.

whats up gents
figured i'd make an intro in here along with the newbie section as I live in nova. Just bought a 08 coupe from a guy in maryland thats decently modded. Couldnt be happier with it so far. Although I usually steer away from already modded cars, thsi one looked solid and the owner put me in touch with the shop and tech who did the work. It was all done in a shop by the name of Kensington Motors located somewhere in maryland.

Anyways heres a few pics of the purchase. I'll hopefully be attending either the cars and coffee meet this saturday in great falls or the kohls meet on sunday, hopefully to meet some locals and maybe even other g37 owners.

That's a nice g! There is a car club called "national g club" on Facebook they have a meet every Thursday in Rockville, MD and on Mondays around the Tyson's corner/ fairfax area. You should check out their fb page we had a cruise last Saturday and it was awesome! First of many for this year.

Congrats with purchase! It's funny because I saw that G37 online and was contemplating on getting it! Hope to see you at some of the meets.
