Good mechanic to install mods-San Jose area?
Can you recommend a good Infiniti mechanic in the San Jose/Santa Clara/Campbell area to install mods on a new 05 Infiniti? Looking for a good mechanic that can lower the stock car professionally. Thanks!
^^^ what he said. talk to Rob. these guys works only on Zs and Gs. i have had all my work done by them. despite a few problems i've had with their work, i would still recommend it.

I'm thinking about supercharging my 05coupe 6MT but need a shop to do it. I'm going to do this in 06 but I am starting my search now.
well, actually, the problem i had with them had nothing to do with the actual work they performed - it was with wheels (they got me wheels, but it was wrong offset - you can read about the whole debacle in this thread).
BUT - they DO stand behind their work, they DO take care of you, and they make it all RIGHT, not just DONE.
i do recommend them highly - all guys who work there - all of them - know our cars inside and out. i spent a few hours watching them work - watching them installing my exhaust and plenum. they are meticulous, careful, and do excellent work. and if anything is wrong with the car, Rob's - the owner's - motto (modus operandi) is "we want you to be happy" - they will make it right.
there are only that many ways i can rephrase this, but the best thing you can do is drive over to the shop, talk to Rob, talk to the guys, look at the cars they have on their lot (they let you walk in into the shop, as long as you don't touch stuff or mess with anything, and around their car lot - i can spend an hour in the lot alone, easy, just looking at cars - it's like a mini Hot Import Nights every time i'm there). look around. say hi. see for yourself. tell them Igor (that's /ee-gore/, not /eye-gore/) sent ya, with highest regards.

oh, more to the point. they've done countless installs of Tein Flex with EDFC - one notable one was done on a 2004 G35 sedan. the car was AWESOME - i rode in it, and it's amazing - EDFC is a lot of fun, i tell ya.

I have been using Scott Performance. They do really good work and I highly recommend them and the owner, Ted is very thorough. I think theres a history between the owners of Scotts and Z Car but either way, I have met both owners and chose this place.

I will be at Scott Performance Wednesday having the car dyno tuned, seems like a real nice guy and knows what he is talking about.
Rob at Z car garage used to be the manager at Scott Performance just to let people know.

So does Scott's place have as much experience with teh G35 sedans as well? Looks like they specialize on Nissan 350Zs. I know these cars are very close and share the same engine, but I am more concerned about other types of mods like suspension and body work.
Also, has anyone done the Unichip upgrade?
