from our experience with these "road shows", we rarely have time for extracurricular activities.
In Vegas, we left at around 3pm, couple of rest stops and made it into town around 8pm
Then it was registering for the hotel, check-in and team coordination. A bit of driving around looking for the car wash and food. By the time we were done, it was ~2am.
Then up at 7am, skipped breakfast and had a load-in at the event at 830a (finally get in at around 10a).. detail cars and setup displays. Done by around 1130/noon.
Then you get locked in at the facility, especially without a chase vehicle until 10p.
we did get out for a Jack in the Crack run just as the event started, but that was it.
Get out of the event by 1100pm (after cleanup and trophies are passed out)
Ate at PF Chengs for dinner at ~1130pm. Younger folks went out on the town, most arepretty exhausted and know they gotta get on the road the next day for another 5 hour drive.
Can't see SF being any different... but we would sure appreciate any group that wants to host a dinner (meaning find a place and make reservations) so we can just arrive, eat and enjoy some G company. Support and enthusiasm from G35Driver's makes these events a lot more fun for the Team.
May also be able to a dim-sum or something Sunday morning?
Right now I have a great setup for a hotel in Santa Clara, but it is about a 45 drive from the City. Could use some suggestions for a good inexpensive hotel off the 101.
