Former G35 Sedan 6MT owner here. Also 30 year Mitsubishi Montero loon. Got rid of the G35 three years ago. Been thinking off and on since then of a G37 Coupe 6MT. Started looking in earnest three months ago. Had some good candidates, but nothing that got me to the Buy-It-Now point. Then two weeks ago I found my way to a 2011 IPL 6MT. A good few ATs out there, but I hadn't seen any MTs. It was "possibly sold" but that fell through mid last week. With that, I was on a plane Friday to get it!
The PO bought it 12 years ago with 41k and proceeded to put a whopping 32k on it himself. It is stock, aside from sitting lowed on springs and a Stage 2 clutch (with HD CSC).
You should be stoked. An IPL 6MT is a fantastic car. Solid, rewarding, beautiful and rare. That was a $50k car off the showroom floor, and that was over 10 years ago!
It's also a great platform for mods. Here are some unsolicited recommendations for direct bolt-on parts that are inexpensive, yet with outstanding results. Simple mods that make the difference between a GT cruiser and an all around driver's car. The best possible bang-for-buck in that car, in no particular order:
Any brand aftermarket swaybars
RJM Clutch Pedal assembly
Short-throw shifter
IPLs are great cars and its hard to find one that's not heavily modded. Essentially, it's a G Coupe with the Nismo Z suspension, H-Pipe based performance exhaust and 350HP tune (and about 300+ pounds)
So you jumped from a G35, or a Montero? People sleep on those Monteros as they are great 4x4s, but have always beem in the shadows of the Land Cruiser.
