newbie check in

hi my name is Kevin I live in Garland Texas I consider myself a pretty good mechanic, I'm helping my friend with his 08 G37 that he just bought unknowingly with some issues, seems the used car dealer sold him a G37 and cleared the OBD codes that magically appeared on his way home after he purchased it, he called the dealer and was told sorry no warranty you bought the car as is. I will post in another thread, hopefully I can get some good information on how to proceed with the issues. thank you for allowing me to join.

Welcome to the community Kevin. We can take a look at the codes in the other thread you create as most of the most common ones have been discussed at length here on the community.

Thank you for the response, sorry for the late reply, I got all of the bugs worked out of it, it turned out to be a combination of issues, first was the galley gaskets I replaced them with upgraded gaskets and upgraded bolts, after that I had issues with the actuators and cam position sensors, even though the actuators tested good on a bench test, when installed and driven for a while bank 2 intermittently quit working, so I replaced both actuators and position sensors and have had no more issues, it was a learning curve for me, my friend is happy with his car and said runs perfect, no engine light, and no leaks. Thanks again

Newbie Ron chexin

Hey yall im Ron from Norcal, around Redding, I was a member of the g35 club but I installed a 09 vq37vhr in my 07 G35. So that kinda makes it so im a crossbreed. Im still trying to get my G running but I aint had the
best of luck or friends. This has been all me from the start when I bought the blown up g35 a year ago. I didnt know nothing about these infinitys then and still dont know it all but I do know I wouldnt of tried to do this swap knowing what I know now. LoL! Jokes on me! Hey and maybe ill get a friend someday that knows about wiring cuz ive tried to learn and Im getting too old i guess. Im 62 yrs old and still doing stupid stuff like this swap. I know some of you are probably laughing at me you guys that know these cars enough to leave this swap alone. I cant! I started it and I gotta get it running. Im at the part where I gotta have a keyfob programmed so I can turn on the ignition. Ive swapped the wiring harnesses, some anyway, and got the g37 ecm and bcm and vvel control box and a g37 dash with wiring .so yeah! I gotta get a locksmith to come program my fob so I can try to start the G. Anyway hi everybody Im Ron.
