G37x Got broken into and almost was stolen
So at about 2am last night my girlfriend got up to go clean up her cats **** for some odd reason he pissed on the floor (which he never does) and she couldn't sleep so she goes to the laundry room where there is a window and hears a noise outside right about where i had my car parked, she then comes running back to the room to tell me she see's someone out by my car so i jump up and go check turns out there was 2 dudes standing in front of my car with my hood open staring into my engine bay, I had my fob with me and tried to lock the car or alarm the siren but by then they already must've had the key reprogrammed or something because my key wasn't doing anything at all, i then screamed at them to get tf away from the car to which they instantly put their hands up and ran, i then bolted downstairs after them but they were long gone. I go to see all the damage that's done or whatever tf they were trying to do, My driver side window was bashed in and my center console and glove box were all ransacked luckily had nothing really valuable other than my radar scanner which they decided to just leave and that was about 500$. I then go to check wtf they did to my engine and nothing seemed out of place other than the black rubber molding things that are held in with the clips on both sides that hide the headlight's. I made a report but we all know that doesn't do **** and then had i had AAA come out and tow my car back to my house. Once i got it back to my house i checked it out further with my brother and literally nothing was wrong in the engine bay he also has a g37 and decided to grab my key and put it in the slot under the steering wheel, He pushed the start button with the brake about 3 times and boom the car started and my main fob started working back to normal, which was odd to me because i thought once they reprogram a new key to your car your keys are cooked until they get reprogrammed by a locksmith.
So now that you got the story I'm just trying to piece together what these guys ultimate goal was, I'm pretty certain that they were planning on taking the car but i spooked them just in time but i wanted to come on here and see if anyone would have a clue to what they were trying to do. Ill put a video down below to show the damage of what they did

Usually when our cars get targetted to be stolen, they break the sunroof not the side window. So either inexperienced or had different motives. If they were looking under the hood, its possible they were trying to disconnect something or see if there were any parts worth ripping out... hard to say. Its weird they would smash the window when they have your key spoofed.

I ordered the plastic piece that completes the handle on the rear doors and put it on my front doors too so there is no visible keyhole. If I absolutely need to use the physical key, have to pry off the little plastic pieces. Not going to stop anyone, but just another little thing to help prevent theft or at least cause confusion.
