Consult 3 plus Questions

Hello everyone. I'm here asking questions about consult 3 plus due to me losing my settings due to playing around with my hidden diag settings and checking if I can have my car reverted back to normal? I could really use help from a technician that has experience and doesn't just tell me no and that my car doesn't bring the features at the dealership when I ask for help. I have a 2013 INFINITI G37 Sedan Journey with premium features non-nav model and my friends in the video I showed is a 2009 model journey as well. I understand I get what I deserve for messing in hidden settings but I recall correctly in a forum before posting this one they can reprogram it but they just don't want to due to laziness.

Not quite following your post. It is clear that you dumped your system, but not sure what else you are asking?

If you are trying to have it reloaded, then you would need to begin contacting your closest dealer and go from there. I cant imagine a dealer being too lazy to pull in a few hours of labor for doing little else than plugging into the car and reloading some software.

As for availabiliy of the programming needed - and if it is correct for your vehicle - i have no idea...that could be an issue as i believe Infiniti is stepping away from supporting this generation of G's/Q's. Thats 100% a dealer question. Or there might be one of our Forum Service Excellence techs on here who would know the answer.

If you cant get your local dealer to do the work, then begin calling the next closest dealer, etc. until you find one receptive to helping you. This could end up being a nice break by taking a day off from the normal grind and spending it on a road trip to have your car fixed.

I'm actually going to Nissan instead of INFINITI due to the fact that I know one of the two will do it.

Also not 100% certain what OP is asking to do, however, if the AV unit was reset using the hidden menu (which is a BIG no-no) the only fix is to have the configuration files re-written to the HDD via CONSULT3 as follows:

The tech will connect C3 to the car and set the toggles to match the car. Takes all of 10-15min. but will likely charge for one-hour's worth of labor or a flat fee- depends on dealership/ shop.

That said, CONSULT3 will NOT allow you to "unlock" hidden features that may exist for one trim or another. Also, there is a BIG difference between pre-2009 and 2010+ models so do not expect one to behave like the other.

Also, unless OP has (or has access to) a CONSULT device, it will be cheaper to just take the car to the dealer or Nissan specialty shop and have them apply the configuration files. Used CONSULT3's (with VI2) are exceedingly rare now that it is being made redundant for CONSULT3/ VI3 and those cheap Chinese-clones aren't worth the risk- some work/ most don't.

all right, so they are capable of restoring the factory settings that I used to have and yes that was on my end but it is possible they said that it should be 180 for the hour of the diagnostic but if anything, they said it should theoretically work thank you for the input. I was hoping that you would be the one to send a message back and I'm glad that you did. I'm showing them this so they don't exactly say that they can't.

They fixed it! The nearest infiniti dealership clearly lied to me about not being able to reprogram the av unit and finally was able to do so! Thank you for your imput for sure again to everyone!
