At a crossroad with what i want to do

I have a 2011 g37x sedan . Got it with 91k miles now have 192k still runs good but always concerned about the gallery gasket got quoted 4k to have it replaced with the waterpump Timing chain and everything . Would it be better to find a newer year engine with lower miles to get swapped in or pay the 4k to get the gallery gasket and all that replaced on the higher mileage motor. What do y’all think

Are you having problems now or are you playing a "what if" scenario?

My thinking, with regards to my 2008 (currently at 116K), if the issue were to ever surface, I would just replace the engine. Used engines can be had for ≈$1K. Labor depends on shop. Given your higher mileage, that is the only route I would take IF the issue ever presents. The gallery gasket does not affect every engine.

After 192K miles, if you do not have any engine issues, you're good to go. Don't go looking for a solution to a problem that does not exist. Just my 10¢.
