Is 128k too high on a G37
Is 128k too high on a G37
Hey guys! I know that 350s/G35s are pretty reliable. I am not sure about the G37. I found this 2010 G37 with 128,000 miles. Wondering if it is a good deal or if I should keep looking. Thanks.

For a 6 year old car, you're looking at about 20k miles per year. This is considered heavily driven by anyone's standard; however, the VQ engine has been tested by time to endure over 200k if maintained properly.
Nevertheless, I don't think the mileage is the issue here - it's the price. Judging from the details and pictures, this car has absolutely no options on it (no awd, nav, backup cam and sensors, bose speakers, sunroof, paddle shifters, sport seats, heated seats, etc). The only decent thing about this car is maybe the tire tread...I personally think the wheels are hideous compared to OEM.
For this price point, I think you should look a bit harder for a car with more options on it. If you are going to buy this car or a comparable example, it should be around $10k and you shouldn't expect resale value to be much at all. I also suggest trying to buy a car from a forum member, since he/she would most likely take better care of the car.

If you really want a G37, find one with lower miles. If your budget is $14K, find a better car with greater value that has less miles for the same money. That is too much for that car. FWIW, I just sold a 09 sedan with 123K miles for $10K. Probably could have gotten somewhat more than that.
I have a 08 g35x sedan and I have 133k. I brought it with 33k. Luckily I have not had any major issues. I changed the spark plugs at 80k. Oil change every 5k with either Mobil 1 or German castrol. I just recently replaced the heater hoses because of a leak. Other then that it's been smooth sailing. I would only be cautious because imyiu don't know how the other owner treated the car.
