Q60S Coupe w/Nismo V1 Wheels Fitment

Hello all,

Currently on OEM suspension and picked up a set of Nismo V1 Wheels.

The fronts look great in my opinion but the issue I have is that on big dips (so far) on the highway, my rear will rub. 275/35/19 - 10.5" +23 I plan on installing the SPC rear camber kit to add some negative camber (hoping that helps) in addition to trimming the bumper bracket. If that doesn't work out, I'm thinking of coilovers that can assist in a stiffer ride when riding over these dips. I am rocking a motordyne exhaust with ART pipes and would prefer to stay at a safe height that won't scrape. Any other suggestions/recommendations on a way forward? Let me know!

Unless you run ridiculous camber in the rear or add flares/stretch the fenders, you're going to rub. I am thinking hard about these wheels too but I think I'd have to run squared fronts to get it to work.

Same boat. I'd be running these or the V2's if it weren't for the bloody 10.5 rears...

If I had a good bodywork person willing to stretch the rear fenders, I would make it work. They look SO good on this platform.

I run a similar set up on my coupe. Had to run smaller tires, add -3 degrees of camber, and trim the rear bumper tab. It still rubs periodically on hard bumps, but it's minor.

ILM you’d probably know this - are the rear subframe / axles/ control arms exactly the same between Z and G? Ie, are the suspension width/track width on the Z smaller to account for the tires? Or is the only difference bodywork?

i know Eastwood sells a fender roller…

I am 99.9i% sure that the suspension components between the two are identical. The track widths are nearly identical (depending on source and method of measurement) at (F) 59/61" and (R) 60-62". Others more knowledgeable in this area will correct me if I am wrong.

I think the subtle differences between the Zed and the G is all in the sheet metal. The rear of the Zed "flares" more which likely accommodates the 10.5" wheel.

Much as I like them, I am not sure playing with sheet metal is worth it for these wheels, but it is your car, your call. It is not for me. But when it comes to wheels I am cursed either way: whenever I find a (used) set of wheels I really like, they are either too wide or are 5x112. Can't win for damn losing, lol.

Swapped the tires to 265/35 (fronts are 235/40). I'll let you guys know how the ride is against that one big dip on my way to work.

Here's an updated pic of the rears. Slight stretch that I don't mind.

That's what, about 3/8" projection past the fender?

Hmm. Need to find some body shop people.

On my way to work today, I was going 70 mph over the dip that I've had issues with - no rub. Before I would have to slow down below 55 mph and would still hear it. Not going to get too excited yet since I am sure there will be an even nastier dip or road surface that may cause a rub. I'll measure it later tonight.

Did you end up keeping these or have to get different rims?

After switching them to 265/35 in the rear, the rubbing stopped & I kept them on!
