Help me pick the car

Hey Bros I would love your opinion..

So i’ve found two good options .. i’ll know a bit more after inspection.. i’ll explain both. They’re both same year. Both g37s manual

1) Blue color, black interior (preference) 105k miles. Needs o2 sensors, has a valve cover leak, and may need either a new drive shaft or one or two rims need to be reshaped. It’s in Minnesota so I’ll have to pay for shipping, which is $775 and an escrow fee of $235, with the mechanic $ could be all together $500-$1000 depending on if its the drive shaft or just a rim.. so the car is at $9700 + 2000, he has test pipes and megan racing coils 20” stance rims. And the mechanic said no rust whatsoever

The other car is an ugly gray paint with an ugly beige interior, 92k miles, I will know more about the inspection tomorrow, we agreed on a flat 10k.. but no transport fee or escrow, cause it’s in bowie, Md.. 1 hr .. stock 19” rims. But i’ll have to get it painted.

The 13k less miles seems really nice, and to not have to worry about a truck transport is also nice, not worrying about the vibrating driving from the get go is also nice, but the beige interior looks like crap no matter what I do and I’m not the kind of guy to change that, and i’ll spend 1-2k for the paint regardless.. the pictures of the paint of the blue car look good.

So..one car sounds like it's been ragged; fully equipped with the eBay specials but it's a Minnesota car with no rust (doubt that) and the other you don't like the color.

My opinion is neither - Keep looking

If I were to buy a used G, I'd buy one that hasn't been "modded".

I'm with RMB5190; a rust-free car from MN? Yeah, maybe if it's never, ever been driven in winter.

In the listing he states that the car has never seen snow, and the mechanic confirmed this with me that there is no rust at all when he looked under the car.

Do you personally know the mechanic? I mean, it's possible but I just find that incredibly hard to believe at 104k miles, and the way it's been beat to hell, in Minnesota; he'll say anything to unload that car.

I'm just saying, it's worth it to stick it out a little longer to find a 6MT in the options you like instead of taking on something that already needs 2k+ worth of repairs.

I look at it this way:
1) get a car that has been modified and, likely, been beat to hell- you can expect a ton of repairs; or
2) get a "ugly" car that you will spend a ton of money getting it to where you like it- and you'll still hate it.

I find it unrealistic that a car with 104K miles, in Minnesota, has never been driven in the snow. Might not be a rust bucket, but... I doubt the owner only tossed it around during the summer season. As RMB5190 mentioned, the seller will say anything to dump the car. Especially to a potential buyer who lives out-of-state.

Wait, shop around, and find a car that you want, will love, and can customize to your specs. There are plenty of used G37's out there. Might take a minute to find it, but the right opportunity will present itself. In my case, I was originally in the market for a 'Vert, but found a Coupe for a bargain that I couldn't refuse. Even though I have no regrets with my Coupe, part of me still wishes I'd had bought a 'Vert.

Don't settle for anything less than what you fully want.

Hard to say but I would stay clear from the blue one. Almost sounds like he power slid into a curb and missed up wheels along with shaft. I wouldn't be surprised if there is problems with the diff and axles as well.
