Question New G37 Owner; tips are much appreciated

Hello everyone, I recently purchased a 2008 g37 coupe with 84K miles. I was driving the other night and I get the "service engine soon" light pop up and remains on whenever the car is on... I'm unsure if that's the check engine light for nissans/infinitis but should i be concerned that the light is on? I doubt its oil since I got one about 800 miles ago yet the oil levels were halfway between H/L... What are some common reasons the light is on? I'm taking my car over to a mechanic in the morning to check it out I would really appreciate some help. Thanks in advance.

lol 4 months before I sold my G37. I would dog out the transmission and the light would come on for going too hard on it. I just reset the light, good as new. Yes, SES is the CEL for infiniti.

The light comes on and it's a code for something related to transmission fluid, but that was from my experience. It's most likely a false code. My friend's beemer does the same thing, it would randomly throw false codes. Hopefully yours is jsut a false reading.
