New "20th Anniversary Edition" G37 Convertible from Texas
Hello All,
This is my first post. I just purchased a "new to me" 2010 20th Anniversary Edition G37 Convertible. New to Infiniti but not new to Nissans... I had a 71 240Z, 240SX and a Maxima, back in early 2000.
I am a gearhead and just sold 2 of my favorite cars (Mazdaspeed Miata "track junky" and my beloved Lexus ISF) and decided to combine some luxury, open top and some performance by getting this G37 convertible. I have been a long time Miata owner (I have had 6 in fact, and some of these tracked)
I am a DIY on most of my projects from engine builds, ECU tuning, suspension, turbos, etc..
However, at this point in my life, I decided just to enjoy the drive while doing minimal performance upgrades to the car. (getting old? )
The car needs some TLC at 97K miles(from my perspective) but it seems solid... stillen intakes and exhaust, new Q60S wheels and newer brakes.
Looking forward to getting to know some of you guys... and learning a lot about this platform. My first DIY didn't go as planned when installing Paddle Shifters, and after removing everything, I realized the car didn't come pre-wired for them.. duh! Hopefully there is a way to wire them into the harness...
Never heard of a 20th anniv. Is that the precursor to the IPL?
Funny,
It does have badges back that say IPL and the engine cover also has the IPL engraving. The PO knew "nothing about it"... so it was in between a 20th Anniversary Edition and the IPL.
Welcome Pololo, glad you found us!
Nice IPL vert, lots of nice upgrades over a base model. As far as what to do, get the best tires your budget would allow (and coming from your history you already know that, lol) and possibly new dampers at that mileage. Unfortunately I think you're really limited for aftermarket dampers on the verts though.
